An important reminder to Dem Politicos: empower your junior staff to speak up and share their ideas, and--more importantly--actually take the time to *hear* them.
It's time to swing for the fences, but the longer you work in politics the more tired, and cautious, you get (1/5)

The Red Sox met expectations this year by making the playoffs, but the way they lost this series was awful and is worthy of significant criticism. They lack impact hitters, but their poor fundamentals cost them last night's game and ultimately the series.
You learned something about key guys: Duran must go. Abreu is a platoon player and might have to go as well. Bello remains untrustworthy. Meanwhile, Garrett Crochet is a stud, Roman Anthony is a building block everyone in baseball is envious of, and the pitching depth has improved tremendously.
But make no mistake about it, nothing is guaranteed. We felt good about the future after 2021 and they went in the tank for 3 straight years. Do not get complacent. Hold their feet to the fire. We can't let them get away with their approach from 2022-2024.
The Red Sox need a number 2 starter and two middle of the order bats, one of whom plays first base. They have the assets and the money to make this happen.
Top offseason targets: Pete Alonso, Kyle Tucker, Kyle Schwarber, Joe Ryan
Most of the Dems freaking out over @ZohranKMamdani & the optics of him being NYC mayor are the same people who supported Andrew Cuomo.
They looked around a city of more than 8m people and said, “you know what, let’s nominate the guy who was run out of office 4 years ago.” GTFOH.
Or hear me out: if these centrists are so concerned about losing to a socialist, maybe they should rally around candidates who inspire people, aren’t toxically flawed, and wouldn’t lose to a socialist?

@Force3ProGear ordered something and it never showed up. Tracking says it was en route and delayed may 6. No change since then. Your customer support won’t get back to me.
.@SenatorAndyKim at USAID: "I talked to the security guard just in there. He said he has been given specific orders to prevent employees of USAID from entering the building today. I just find that to be absolutely ridiculous. This is no way to govern."
An unelected billionaire who was denied high level security clearance has, through threats and retribution, gained access to our federal government’s payment system. That’s the system that sends out your earned Social Security and Medicare benefits. 🧵1/4
They wanted to see if everyone would freak out, and people did, so they responded. As @TheStefanSmith has been saying, these orders are just a stress test to see what people are willing to take. And it's why being quiet is such a stupid idea.
Our hearts are with the hardworking families in California who have been affected by the recent fires.

A gutting detail from this @JonathanBlitzer interview:
After the Postville Raid, a massive ICE operation in 2008, a study found Latino babies born nearby were significantly underweight. Their mothers were so gripped by fear that it caused prenatal harm.
