Techies need to learn to collaborate. Don't ge greedy and risk your reputation.

If you get a gig that you can't deliver for any reason like technical expertise or time, find a competent techie who has space for more work. If the reason is technical expertise, the condition for this arrangement should be that you learn from the project.

When the work is done, your client is happy and believes in you. You still keep that network and learn in the process.

Techies are collaborating out here. It's not always about money. Sometimes you need to keep your network healthy, sometimes you gain experience. Remember people are more likely to work with people they feel like they know. You don't necessarily gigs because you're more competent. It's the whole fimbo ya mbali saying.
