∆C/F- It characteristically presents as a subacute triad consisting of progressive exertional dyspnea, a dry/non productive cough, and low grade fever.
✓ Diagnosis- Clinical, microscopic visualization of cysts or trophozoites using silver staining on induced sputum or bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid, alongside PCR assay testing.
∆ Treatment- Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (TMP-SMX) serves as both the definitive first line therapeutic agent and the preferred prophylactic choice.
