Because of the heat, dry conditions and gusty winds, @BendFireDept Battalion Chief Dave Howe suggests Bend residents NOT use fireworks at home tonight and reminds everyone that they are responsible for damages caused by fireworks. See full interview at https://t.co/Xx4Knj0QWQ
@jdcasting @BendFireDept Just south of the Butte. Good response is knocking it down, column is starting to dissipate, but stil lots of embers and smoke to be sure.
Embers falling on the house from the Pilot Butte fire, glad I cleaned the gutters in advance of the illegal fireworks that are still to come. @bendfiredept
BREAKING: Close to 27,000 without power in Bend, and of course as most of you know there was/is a fire on the side of Pilot Butte, we are working hard to get more info and connect the dots, etc. https://t.co/kx7myx3yUO
There is a brush fire on the south side of Pilot Butte. Highway 20 is closed and the apartments next to the butte are being evacuated. Please avoid the area.
Wow, it's been 30 years since the first ignition of the #Yellowstone#fires of '88! How have you learned the lesson of being more #fireadapted ?
