More than a word. Reconciliation takes action. Year 6 contemplating Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week, creating a visual response on beautiful Ngunnawal country π€πβ€οΈ
Last week the 4th year Primary students had the opportunity to explore traditional and modern Indigenous art techniques to express stories of our own. I reflected on the importance of storytelling through various mediums and the cultural value of this expression.

After completing a PL on eSafety last week, I have continued to explore the resources available to support me and my students. This here is a great one!
Our eSafety Toolkit for #schools has resources designed to help guide & support #onlinesafety & wellbeing. It's categorised into four main elements: Prepare, Engage, Educate and Respond. Learn more here: https://t.co/R6PiIO7CiF
Something I stumbled across when researching EAL/D teaching approaches. The elaborated @aitsl standards by the Australian Council of TESOL Associations give further insight into how teachers can provide quality education for EAL/D students. Take a look!

This really got me thinking about my 'why' for teaching. It allowed me to reflect on how this has changed in the past and open my mind to how it may evolve throughout my career.
Your fellow Ts are sharing their highs, lows and sustaining moments with the #WhyITeachNow hashtag!
Check out their reflections here and use the hashtag to share your "why" with teacher friends: https://t.co/GQiffdY4jG #TeacherFriends#TeacherLeaders
Really excited to learn how to use Seesaw to the best of its capabilities this year. They have also just added a voice recording feature. A great tool for varied modality and support for EAL/D students.
With the Seesaw Video tool, students can:
π₯ Practice fluency
π₯ Show how they solve a problem step-by-step
π₯ Explain their thinking
π₯ Demonstrate a new skill
π₯ Give a presentation
π₯ Document a science experiment
What is your favorite way to use the Video tool? #SeesawChat
First lesson down with my final prac class. A great reminder of how essential quality feedback and reflection are to the improvement of the quality of our planning and teaching. #acuedu_p
Kaplan's depth and complexity tools are a great way to differentiate questions and tasks to encourage deep thinking. @IanAByrd provides a great guide to using icons in the classroom https://t.co/NJXu8bh4Y0
My first day at prac was EXCELLENT. I spent some time getting to know students and volunteering with them at a local community organisation. The students were able to identify ways they can connect and contribute to their communities in practical ways! #ACUedu_p
Getting prepared to begin the final placement of my degree next week. Day 1 will be all about developing relationships, getting familiar with the classroom culture and seeking inspiration for my future teaching. #acuedu_p
After a lengthy hiatus, it has come time to make a return to Twitter. As I begin my final year as a preservice teacher I turn to this platform as a place to share ideas and experiences as well as develop valuable networks for the future #ACUedu_p
Meet Paul. Paul is an award winning pet, however, he is more than a pet. Paul is a friend, an anxiety companion and a life partner. Paul can spread his sparkly joy near and far. If you give him love, he will protect your heart. #EDTS240_ACT
