@JoelKatz@QuidamVeritas@BraddrofliT Why should it be limited to over 10 million? Surely someone borrowing against 5 million, or 500k in stock is still realising these gains? Unless that is the "wealth tax" angle of it, which is be in favor of. I'm just wondering if you have a different reason?
@JoelKatz@QuidamVeritas@BraddrofliT By your own example of "realising" we could say that, the value of a stock is realised when it is borrowed against. That borrowing against stock should be taxable upon the borrowing.
@adamboxer1@MrMattock Protip: You actually can insert stuff like this into OneNote if you embed it into an MS Sway first. Then embed the sway in the OneNote. A totally unnecessary and ridiculous workaround, but if embedding it is a dealbreaker then there IS a solution.
@MrMattock@adamboxer1 Note sure what you mean here, can you be more specific? I can't think of a way whiteboards win this one. You can draw with the orb, undo, highlight, etc all much easier in ON imo
@MsLECHistory@adamboxer1 A "paper like" screen protector helps a lot. It's essentially just a screen protector that isn't perfectly smooth, offers you similar friction to paper.
@adamboxer1 To be fair, they've taken away the charitable status now so why should literally any of it go to anyone but the people they want. This whole "you're not a charity, we're going to charge you VAT argument goes both ways" more feckless labour education policy fallout
@dickietunnel@jwsal Richard, if you don't understand supply and demand just say so. This behaviour from people like him has 100% cost you, and everyone else.
@adamboxer1 A mass of abuse by technology companies classically being put on schools to solve.
- Worse mental health
- Shorter attention spans
- "Screen time"
- lack of youth clubs
- lack of opportunity and class mobility
The gripes are legit, the target of them is not.
@mgtruth@CateTyduCymru No one is trying to harm children Ruth. The only reason policies like this exist is because left unchecked children "need the loo" to bunk off lessons. There is a sensible middle ground here somewhere, perhaps a doorman on the toilet (this is a joke)
@rdkrdk@adamboxer1 One example; she retweeted the guy calling for "No Muslims allowed in parliament". The teaching standards that we are legally obligated to uphold include us representing British values. One of which is: "Mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs."
@Hookean1 AQA physics A-level has always felt "hostile" to the students. I've taught on 3 exam boards now and I'd rank them from a fairness perspective: Edexcel, OCR, AQA
@TRACYBEADLES@MrLGeo Depends on your school and the complexity of the timetable. A school providing minimal subjects with many teachers can do this. Most are not in this position though. My school has 700 and offers 20 subjects at GCSE, it is literally impossible for us to do this.
@CaroleFlyn24869@AllisonPearson You're not doing it for their parents. You're doing it so you can say "in a MY country we don't let kids go hungry just because their parents are failing them"
