🗣️‘We’ve forgotten that we will have to give care, we will receive care, & to make our political arrangements on that basis’
@emilykenway has written a book about caring for her mother. She joined @BBCNuala to share her experience & why we need to think about caregivers more ⬇️
@ChrisGPackham@BBCTwo@BBCiPlayer Thank you so much for making this program. It is so hard for my husband and the people I work with to explain their world to others and this gives such an amazing insight. I hope many many people see it because if they do, they can't help but be changed by it.
Little thing I have been working on: You, Me and AuDHD, a blog (and soon to be podcast) about how my husband and I are making our marriage work despite our neurodiversity.

Today is Carers' Rights Day. Unpaid carers do so much and it can cost them a lot, both financially and with the toll it takes on physical and mental health. It's a lifelong job that they never asked for but take on through love.

someone? Is it once again inadvertently implying bullying is the victim's 'fault' for being different rather than the bully's fault for bullying? Genuine question as I can't make up my mind on this. (2 of 2)
Musing on the odd socks for antibullying week thing. I understand it is about saying it is OK to be different. But is it also implying that people are only bullied because they are different? Rather than because bullies are cruel or hurt people and like to take it out on (1 of 2)
It’s #NationalInclusionWeek where we reflect on the need to turn employers’ commitment to #inclusion into ACTION to nurture more #inclusive, #diverse workplaces. Here's Matt from #Coventry at our employer networking event, talking about his job at an engineering firm in Leicester
I don’t think I have ever met an autistic child who *wants* to game all day. We talk about this topic in our community, as it is a common belief which young people find really frustrating. So why does it *look* like young people want to game all day?

Working with so many people desperate to get a job, applying all the time and so scared their benefits will get taken but employers aren't willing to give them a chance because they need reasonable adjustments or don't have a typical work history. This will just = more pressure.
NEW: Chancellor will announce this week that 120,000 benefit claimants will be asked to take active steps to seek more and better paid work, or face having their benefits reduced.
Hard for govt to contrast with bankers getting increased bonuses, but they’re facing it head first.
