#LetFreedomSing Violence is No Panacea , by Brian Tamuka Kagoro 1.Violence and Martyrdom Don't be fooled. A world where violence and power dominate forces the weak and oppressed to valourise martyrdom , resistance, and rebellion. It inevitably produces tyranny and impunity as fatal companions of insecure power . In the end, rulers are reduced to illegitimate tyrants, and the people become bandits of necessity. Insecure leaders become kleptocrats and hermits from their own hostile people. Even their social bribes can't buy them love and acceptance by the masses. They resort to stealing elections and jingoistic PR nonsense. Their families panic and begin to hover over and around state coffers like flies and worms around a dead and rotten carcass out in the veld . Looting becomes a habit, and Shame vacates (actually abandons political spaces) . Conscience migrates far away. In shock at their own decadence , the looters resort to flaunting their ill-gotten wealth .They seek to sanitise their profanity. To make Kleptocracy admirable and acceptable . There is comfort in numbers , even unwilling participants. In search of a critical mass of compromised people, they seek to corrupt as many people as possible in order to avoid the loneliness of shameless guilt and a dead conscience. Wretched souls ensconced in obscene luxury gained through destroying the livelihoods and futures of the oppressed and marginalised. In brazen guilt, they become philanthropists of sorts and think that their crimes against the masses of the people will evaporate in short memories. With the measure you give pain , misery , and sleepless nights full of tears , so too shall you receive a good measure, shaken together and running over shall oppressed and poor people give back to you. These looters are deceived and delusional. They think that power has no end and that ill-gotten wealth is inexhaustible because it is hidden in vaults in far away countries? What will they do when their gods collapse and power guarantors fall face-down ? Where will you run to ? The children of the poor will seek you out . You enjoy limelight and social media celebrity, how will you hide from their wrath . For your sake, change quickly . Abandon your wicked ways O! 2.Redeem Our Humanity We must and can change from such a decadent world and mindset that prospers on the pain of poor people. We can and should redeem our humanity, not through bombs and live ammunition( or PR and political manipulation) , but genuine compassion for humanity, empathy, honesty , integrity, dialogue, global cooperation, and respect for human dignity, justice, and freedoms. Let the thieves stop stealing, and the liars stop lying to themselves. But of course, they won't because materialism and power breeds a godlike complex and false sense of invincibility. Scoffers sink faster than a pungent smell in strong winds . 3.Break the Cycle of Tyranny and Bloodshed Remember, today's tyrants will most likely be tomorrow's victims, and the vicious cycle continues to eternity. Let us break the cycle. Criminal governance by criminal elements produces vigilantism. To bring our society from the brink, we have to stop celebrating and aiding stupidity and self-destructive violence in pursuit of short-term gains. Power is not an end in itself, nor is violence a necessary means to prosperity and peace
