Goodmorning everyone, we need to be careful on social media.
The young man talking on the background sent this video to my sister after he tried to scam her of 75k.
REPOST THIS SO OTHERS CAN LEARN.
Here is what happened, he contacted her on Facebook, trying to be friends with her. Told her he was single and searching, that his mother was pressurizing him to get married. Of course he used another person’s face, stating that he lived in Uk. my sister being a straight forward person told him that they could just be friends because they just met on the app and needed time to recuperate . He then proposed to send her 1million naira to support whatever business she does. At this point my sister came to me, telling me that a stranger from ANAMBRA state she just met online is so nice and want to send her money. I immediately told her it’s not possible and it looks like a scam. IN QUOTE “ I SAID TO HER, NO IGBO MAN WILL JUST SEND YOU 1MILLION NAIRA ON A FIRST CONVERSATION “ I asked her what did he told her about himself and she said he had a daughter and his wife was dead and the daughter stays with his mother. I again told her that this is a scam. In the middle of our conversation the mother called her, after the call she said to me Chioma, the mother just called me and I even spoke with his daughter… everything happening just so fast.. I just felt something was not right. To cut the long story short,very early the next day, the so called mother called my sister that his daughter has been shot and she cannot reach him and they need medical bills. She woke me and told me then I confirmed it was scam and told her to lead him on like she was naive …. She tried to reach the guy and finally reached him telling him what his mother said. The guy said to my sister, PLEASE HELP SAFE MY DAUGHTER’S LIFE I DONT HAVE ACCESS TO SEND MONEY NOW.. the so called MOTHER CALLED AGAIN ASKING FOR 75k. I mada sure we messed with his mental health until he gave up!! he ended up confessing to her that he is in prison and does that scam to survive…. I saw his face on video but did not take a screenshot because he apologized and confessed… but this should be a lesson to so many… most people online are very bad. Let us be careful of scammers!!!
Can you imagine he sent a fake western union reciet just to make my sister send her own money?
