Our VA & DC Manager Elliott Caldwell was in Hanover County, Virginia, for the groundbreaking for a 4.8-mile section of the Fall Line Trail, which will serve as a key 40+ mile segment of the East Coast Greenway when complete!

@vj5c07@fosdaneDC Got it. Riggs-Michigan segment (especially north of Sargent) seems like a possibility even by standard metrics - great place to focus on curb to curb changes with schools, a library, park/green space, retail, Metro access right there.

@BikeGillian Also since Oudenaarde is basically on the Tour of Flanders route, it's easy to stay there and ride a lot of the course, do the classic climbs (Paterberg, Kwaremont etc).

The East Coast Greenway’s current route is an in-development, work-in-progress that connects the completed, traffic-free segments of the Greenway.

@SC_Cycling @Pflax1 That region does include Norfolk (Elizabeth River Trail) and much of the Peninsula (VA Capital Trail) plus there are new trail sections in Suffolk & the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail is incredibly popular so if they are counting trail bike usage as trips, it is a bit less surprising.
