Delighted to be graduating (virtually) from @imperialcollege👩🎓. In spite of a challenging year, I’m over the moon to be graduating with a Distinction and awarded the Faculty of Medicine NHLI Dean’s Prize.
Congratulations to all🥳 #OurImperial#ImperialMed@ImperialNHLI
Whatever you think about resident doctor strikes, the govt's decision to downgrade the NHS by - yes, you read that right - "reducing reliance on doctors" is appallingly short-sighted. This will punish patients, who have a right to access high quality care from appropriately qualified medical professionals. How exactly is improving the NHS compatible with reducing its numbers of doctors, @wesstreeting? This is exactly what Jim Mackey appears to be announcing 😳
Again, public needs to understand this. These training places are how you get the specialists that patients require for clinics, operations and cancer care. They should not be anything to do with a scrap between unions and politicians - they're necessary.
This is absurd. If we need 4,000 training places we should have them. If we don’t, the Prime Minister shouldn’t be offering them as a bribe paid for by the taxpayer.
What a disgraceful and patronising way to treat healthcare staff working hours on end to look after us all.
These training posts are vital for the future of our NHS. To use them as bargaining chips is appalling.
Time to end privatisation and fund the NHS properly instead.
This Good Friday, doctors are the lowest paid in the hospital.
£17/hour to assess, treat, & manage 100s of patients alone.
6 years of study.
£100k+ in student loans.
Endless responsibility.
Fully qualified. Saving lives. Exhausted.
This isn’t sustainable. Things must change.
Cannot stop thinking of this case. The horror of it has been rattling around my brain, not just what her husband did to her, but how so many men were complicit in the abuse. How are we not in the streets in uproar, why aren’t more men talking about this https://t.co/j308PGIkHF
putting this video on the tl make sure you dont forget who we are fighting for. they arent just numbers or names. they are people with lives and dreams and they deserve to live in a liberated palestine
This is an MRI image of 3 people:
The top is a 40 year old triathlete.
The middle is a 74 year old sedentary person.
The bottom is a 70 year old triathlete.
The dark part is the muscle and the light part is the fat.
What you see is that a 70 year old may be able to retain the same amount of muscle and bone density as a 40 year old if maintained through exercise.
If not, then you suffer the fate of the 74 year old sedentary person.
The lesson? You either use it or lose it.
Stay active and train consistently to live a long and prosperous life.
Sorry - Steve Barclay is on f**king holiday??? How is this not front page news? Yet one member of the BMA goes to a friends wedding and they are tipped for being a champagne socialist? I’m so done with media in this country. Tory mouthpieces.
@thegradmedic In same situation- our “maintenance” is too low. I’m doing a reverse diet with a coach- bringing calories up so body can start getting used to a higher ‘normal’. Gaining weight/fat and not enjoying it atm but eventually will cut and see the results in a healthy/sustainable way!
