Wen Tether audit? nOw.

Today Tether announces its first full financial audit for Tether International, conducted by KPMG U.S. which resulted in an unqualified clean opinion, marking the highest result possible.
An unqualified opinion is the best possible audit opinion an independent auditor can issue.
(“unqualified” in accounting jargon means without reservations — not that the audit was incomplete).

Tether’s financial audit, by at least an order of magnitude, is the largest inaugural audit in the history of finance. My congratulations go to the entire Tether team and especially to our Finance function, which demonstrated its ability, precision and commitment to complete this review process within the highest standards across the whole digital assets and global financial industry. We couldn’t be more proud.

Despite our Company being subject to several years of detractors’ false claims, competitors lies, political attacks and misinformed coverage by several mainstream newspapers trying desperately to discredit us for the benefit of their friends in the tall ivory towers, Tether delivered what it promised: a full financial audit issued by a Big Four accounting firm, KPMG U.S.

Tether created the stablecoin industry with USD₮ in 2014, revolutionizing the whole financial industry. Today everyone talks about stablecoins, yet it all started 12 years ago, with a tiny team and a big mission. We were there when no one else could understand the disruptive potential of what we invented.
Our Company has evolved into one of the most financially significant and operationally sophisticated private companies in the world. This audit demonstrates that our financial infrastructure and governance have evolved alongside that responsibility. Today, more than 650 million users across all emerging markets continue to rely on Tether daily, choosing USD₮ as their currency, for their life savings, for their commerce, for the future of their children. These are people that have been left behind by the traditional financial system and they trust our Company to remain resilient amidst all the global uncertainty that plagues the world - the proof of that stability is no longer just a Tether promise; it's now an independent signed opinion.

Altura Community Update

The wind-down of the Inessa strategy is well underway.

Over $4.3M has been received this week alone, with transfers landing on each of the first three banking days, bringing the total received to over $9.7M. The remaining funds deployed to Inessa are being returned via wire transfer and are expected to continue arriving at the current pace.

Every deposit is published on the Proof of Reserves dashboard and can be independently verified on J.P. Morgan's payment tracker. Each transfer is then manually reconciled by our transparency partner Accountable, whose dashboard updates as each review completes.

Once all assets are returned and verified, redemptions reopen for everyone at the same time.

Thank you for your patience. The unwind is moving, and every transfer will continue to be published as it lands.

There'll come a day when you'll wake up to a +15% Bitcoin candle.

ETH and alts will be up +20%-30%, and most people will rush to short.

But the markets will continue to climb, liquidating all shorts back to back.

You'll see your portfolio at new highs, and your family will start asking about crypto.

You'll wake up to a coin in your portfolio randomly pumping 2x-3x and then doing the same again for a few more times.

You'll be back to life-changing gains and will thank yourself for not giving up.

Dear Users,

Over the past 24 hours, we have experienced an unprecedented level of withdrawal requests and have successfully processed more than 8.5 million USDT in instant redemptions.

Given the sustained withdrawal demand and current market sentiment, we have made the difficult decision to begin an orderly wind-down of the Altura vault. Our priority remains the protection of user capital and ensuring all redemptions are completed in a fair, transparent, and efficient manner.

To facilitate this process, we have notified all counterparties and partners of our decision and have started unwinding positions across the portfolio. These positions include allocations held on exchanges, private credit opportunities, and real-world asset strategies. While some positions can be redeemed immediately, others require standard settlement and redemption periods, and we are working closely with all counterparties to accelerate the process wherever possible.

We want to reassure all users that the wind-down is being conducted in a structured manner and that capital is being returned as underlying positions are redeemed.

Despite it being a weekend, our team has worked around the clock to process withdrawal requests and maintain continuous communication with partners and users. I am incredibly proud of the effort and commitment demonstrated by everyone involved during this period.

Personally, I am deeply disappointed by how quickly misinformation and speculation can spread within the industry. Altura has always operated with transparency and integrity, and it is unfortunate to see unfounded narratives contribute to market fear and withdrawal pressure.

Nevertheless, our focus remains unchanged: executing an orderly wind-down and returning capital to users as efficiently as possible.
We will continue providing regular updates as redemptions progress and additional liquidity becomes available.

Thank you for your trust and support throughout this process.

The anatomy of a crypto bank run

In crypto, fear spreads faster than fundamentals.

Over the weekend, the broader DeFi market witnessed an aggressive panic cycle. Driven by external ecosystem events unrelated to Altura’s operations, a wave of systemic anxiety rippled through yield bearing stablecoin products.

What followed was a textbook, modern day bank run. But while the word bank run usually signals a structural disaster, the actual mechanics here tell a completely different story: one of robust risk management, over collateralization, and an orderly wind down.

Chronology of an external contagion:

To understand why Altura is winding down its multi strategy stablecoin vault, you have to look at the macro catalyst that sparked the panic.

1) the catalyst: the stablecoin yield ecosystem experiences a severe confidence shock. Yield bearing stablecoin msUSD suffers a severe depeg after its proof of solvency provider terminates its verification agreement. Panic immediately ripples through all stablecoin yield products.

2) the ripple effect: despite @alturax having zero direct exposure to Main Street or msUSD, market anxiety bleeds into the community. Fear driven narratives take over on socials, and a coordinated rush of withdrawal requests hits the stablecoin yield vault.

3) the stress test: the Altura team worked around the clock to meet the sudden surge. In less than 24 hours, the protocol successfully processes more than 8.5 million USDT in instant redemptions. The smart contracts and liquidity rails perform under pressure.

4) the decision: recognizing that market panic is outpacing rational fundamentals, the strategic decision is made to phase out vault operations entirely, notifying counterparties and starting an orderly unwinding of all remaining underlying strategies.

5) the reality: funds are Safu, redemptions 100% backed

Sometimes a project doesn't fail because of its own mistakes. It gets caught in a storm of market sentiment.

When a 'bank run' starts, there's no stopping people from panicking and withdrawing, but what the team did do was prove the vault's structural integrity.

Altura has suffered absolutely no capital losses, exploits, or bad debt. The vault remains fully over collateralized. Every single user will be paid out 100% in full.

While the team processed over 8.5 million USDT instantly out of liquid reserves, Altura’s multi strategy vault generates its yield by allocating capital across real world asset strategies, delta neutral market making, and private credit.

Because certain underlying portfolio positions are tied to standard corporate settlement windows or specific redemption timeframes with real world institutional partners, the remaining funds will be distributed progressively.

As the capital from these unwinding strategies returns to the contracts, it will immediately be made available to users. The team is working directly with all counterparties to accelerate this process as quickly as possible.

The team chose a transparent wind down over risking protocol stability. The core priority right now is singular: executing a fair, seamless, and highly visible redemption process for every single depositor.

The team is here, they are building, and they are handling this market stress exactly how an institutional grade protocol should: with calm execution and absolute integrity.

This is all I know myself, will keep you posted.

What the hell would @tether do with an extra $20 billion?

"It’s not about the money - it’s about sending a message", says @paoloardoino - a quote he borrowed from the Joker in Batman

@tether isn’t raising 20B because it needs to. It’s raising to signal that its mission is 100x bigger than what people think - and that mission is to make the world a more stable place!

With a philosophy, tech innovation, and the capital, Tether has the rare combo most companies dream of.

Some people think crypto is useless.
Then there are those who use it every day, to pay for dinner, a trip, or a new pair of shoes.

The problem isn’t the technology.
It’s the mindset.

That’s exactly why CoinbarPay exists:
To prove, with real-world actions, that using crypto-assets is already possible.
And often... even more convenient.

So here’s the real question:
