Stuff Good Players Should Know by the OG Dick DeVenzio ๐ was one of the first coaching books ๐๐ง ๐ one of our head chefs ๐จโ๐ณ purchased many years ago - a great resource until lending it to a player, who, perhaps unsurprisingly, didn't return it ๐คฃ
5/ Speaking of Euro flavor, @EfficientSauce is one of the best follows on Twitter. Love this breakdown of a simple action/counter. Besides just posting sets they are challenging coaches to think the game differently.
@jackfrank_jjf After the game, KD called Collins the best at slipping screens in the league. Trae's gravity only enhances that quality. Really fun two man game when they have it cooking. Putting shooting around them is a no brainer.

Now that Iโm on winter break Iโm enrolling myself in a self-prescribed basketball semester. This will include @LarryCoonโs CBA course, diving into some analytics projects Iโve had in the works, studying @EfficientSauce and @dictionarybball, and doing practice video sessions (1/2)
Frame 4, as 5 rolls clearly inside the paint (now supposing a Low Tag and x2High being in a Take Two, otherwise the kickback would have already been made v High Tag) 1 needs to Fill Behind to separate/stretch (Medieval Torture Rack) the Take Two= โฌ๏ธ open, easier pass decision
From the diagram it appears to be a โMiddle or Angle PNR (4 Ahead) with a Short Roll Hold (as opposed to a Cut and Slide or Wheel where 2 would cut and 1 would slide to the left corner) to Punish the Show.โ
Frames 2 and 3 described above. Frame 1 is a Diamond ๐ alignment. Frame 4 weโd recommend depicting a โRounded Rollโ to get sufficient E-W separation from x5 in Drops, while still getting a conducive roll angle to the hoop (โPunish the Dropsโ)
Awesome to see the adoption of the Messi Pass terminology ๐ฅ

Great discretion shown here by Calathes employing the "Smurf" dribble. "Papa Smurf" is a tongue in cheek term for a rare version of "Smurf" employed by a big ๐คฃ Great clip @TheHiveScouting ๐ฅ
After getting Calathes going downhill with the help of two middle screens (attention to the angle) he gets a switch on the "Papa Smurf" dribble (att @EfficientSauce). Great recognition by the whole team being patient and adapting to punish it.
Great eg of what at ES we call a "B-Drive Boomerang" from our friend @Franz_NanniBK
๐ While employing a Boomerang to Punish the Switch, on the A to B pass, B makes a hard drive back in the direction of A

An example of what I call "aggressive boomerang", where after the switch and the initial pass, the wing attacks the nail, forcing the defender to stunt and creating a closeout 1v1 instead of a static 1v1
I've wrote some stuff about boomerang actions here https://t.co/K8NJJGQyrM

Great clip Coach! Here Arrive Alone compromises the Show, easing the short roll pass by creating space. Then good application of coverage solutions. Great to see our terminology has been of use ๐ฅ๐ฅซ๐
Smash to Arrive Alone (@EfficientSauce) versus the show and a double gap on the backside provide excellent spacing for @paobcgr to take advantage of the 3vs2.

How Valencia effectively attacked Real's drop coverage?
Combining a cut to a pop action, according to the time of the cut this could be used to PREVENT the help on the pop (first clips) or to punish it (last 3 clips)
