The fact that the beliefs followed by the majority of Ethiopians share commonalities and serve as symbols of peace, as well as their history of living together, is evidence of this. Current conflicts are not religious or ethnic in nature; rather, they are instigated by destabilizing actors to conceal political and economic interests. Therefore, to sustainably strengthen the country, the people must stand against hate campaigns and, in a civilized manner, respect and support institutions that safeguard the nation's existence, such as the National Defense Force."

Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos received today Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah bin Hassan Al-Zahrani. On the occasion, the Minister appreciated the long-standing Ethiopia-Saudi Arabia bilateral relations. They also discussed regional peace and security issues of mutual interest. They also discussed the need to further strengthen cooperation in various areas of mutual interest and matters affecting Ethiopian nationals in the Kingdom.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedion Timothewos, held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, who is on an official visit to Ethiopia.

On the occasion, Gedion underscored that the longstanding friendship between Ethiopia and Russia spans generations and continues to serve as a strong foundation for the two countries' bilateral relations.

The two Foreign Ministers exchanged views on current regional and global issues of mutual interest.

Beyond the longstanding political and diplomatic ties between the two countries, the Ministers also discussed ways of further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, and technology transfer.

The two sides further emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation within multilateral diplomatic platforms, including BRICS, and reaffirmed their commitment to closer coordination on issues of common interest.

I am pleased to see the steady progress of the Chano–Chencha Road Project. The 29-kilometer project, comprising the 22-kilometer Chano–Chencha road and the 7-kilometer Ezo–Gircha branch road, is advancing well, with 13.3 kilometers already completed. Once finished, it will improve connectivity, make travel easier, and support local economic development. I look forward to its successful completion.

During the visit, we also reviewed the renovated Dorze Lodge, a community-led tourism destination that has been thriving since 2005. Perched on a cool, mountainous ridge spanning 40,000 square meters, this remarkable site offers breathtaking panoramic views of Lakes Abaya and Chamo, together with the natural wonder known as God’s Bridge.

The continued development of road infrastructure alongside tourism sites like Dorze Lodge will help unlock the region’s immense economic and cultural potential. I invite our citizens, Ethiopians in the diaspora, and travelers from around the world to visit and experience this extraordinary natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.

የቻኖ-ጨንጫ መንገድ ፕሮጀክት የደረሰበትን ፈጣን የግንባታ ሂደት ዛሬ ተመልክተናል። የ22 ኪሎ ሜትር የቻኖ-ጨንጫ መንገድ እና የ7 ኪሎ ሜትር የኤዞ-ጊርጫ ቅርንጫፍ መንገድን የያዘው የ29 ኪሎ ሜትር ፕሮጀክት በጥሩ አፈጻጸም ላይ ሲሆን፣ 13.3 ኪሎ ሜትር ስራው ተጠናቋል። የመንገዱ ስራ ሙሉ በሙሉ ሲጠናቀቅ የማኅበረሰቡን ትስስር ይበልጥ ያጠናክራል፣ ንግድ እና ጉዞን ያቀላጥፋል፣ እንዲሁም የአካባቢውን የኢኮኖሚ ልማት ያፋጥናል።

በዚሁ ጉብኝታችን፣ ከ1997 ዓ.ም ጀምሮ በማህበረሰቡ ጠንካራ መሪነት የያዘውና የታደሰውን የዶርዜ ሎጅ የቱሪዝም መዳረሻ ጎብኝተናል። በ40 ሺህ ካሬ ሜትር ቦታ ላይ፣ በቀዝቃዛውና ሰንሰለታማ የተራራ ጋራ ላይ ያረፈው ይህ አስደናቂ ሥፍራ፣ የአባያና ጫሞ ሐይቆችን እንዲሁም “የእግዜር ድልድይ” ተብሎ የሚጠራውን የተፈጥሮ ድንቅ ዕይታ በአንድ ላይ በግልጽ የሚያሳይ ውብ ገጽታን ይሰጣል።

እንደ ዶርዜ ሎጅ ያሉ መሰል የቱሪስት መዳረሻዎች ጎን ለጎን የሚከናወነው የመንገድ መሠረተ-ልማት መስፋፋት፣ ስፍራው ያለውን እጅግ ከፍተኛ የኢኮኖሚና የባህል አቅም ሙሉ በሙሉ አውጥቶ ለመጠቀም በእጅጉ ያግዛል። በመሆኑም፣ በሃገር ውስጥ እና በውጭ ሃገር የሚኖሩ ኢትዮጵያውያንና የዲያስፖራ አባላት፣ እንዲሁም ከመላው ዓለም የሚመጡ ጎብኚዎች ይህንን አስደናቂ የተፈጥሮ ውበትና የበለጸገ የባህል ሐብት እንዲጎበኙና የታሪኩ ተጋሪ እንዲሆኑ ጥሪዬን አቀርባለሁ።

Strengthening domestic production through our own capabilities is the foundation of our economic independence and our sovereignty.

Today, we visited the Yo Holding charcoal factory in the Gamo Zone, which began operations last year. By supplying the needs of our industries with locally produced products, the factory has replaced imports and reduced the need for foreign products. It has also created employment opportunities for local residents.

Our journey to develop our country’s natural resources through hard work and domestic investment will continue with renewed determination. In doing so, we will strengthen our economic sovereignty.
