All Efty services are back online! Security updates and checks are complete. Some changes may take longer to appear as we clear queued tasks. Thanks for your patience while we put your data’s security first. Notice anything unusual? Please let us know.
As a precaution against critical PHP vulnerabilities, we’re temporarily taking Efty Investor, domain shops, and custom for-sale landers offline to protect customers. https://t.co/CKh8vWGZQ7 and Efty Pay remain fully available; neither runs on PHP. Updates to follow.
Update: Official PHP security fixes are available, and we’re working to restore service soon. We’ll complete the necessary updates and checks before bringing everything back online. Your data comes first. https://t.co/CKh8vWHxFF and Efty Pay remain available.
The vulnerabilities originate in PHP itself, rather than in code developed by Efty. We are taking this precaution while the necessary security updates and checks are completed.
@FredMarlow7 This is entirely up to the seller, but please feel free to email us at [email protected], and we can help you follow up with the seller if necessary.
I just published a completely hopium-free guide to selling a domain name.
There is some history here.
In 2018, I wrote a nine-part guide on DN Geek that reached the first page of Google within a few months.
I later sold DN Geek, the guide disappeared, and so did the ranking. Its framework lived on, though. Search for “how to sell a domain name” today and quite a few results will look strangely familiar.
Eight years and hundreds of domain sales later, I decided to write it again from scratch.
This guide won’t tell you what most domain owners want to hear.
The fact that you love your domain doesn’t make it valuable. The business idea you once had for it doesn’t add to the price. An automated appraisal is not proof of value. Listing a domain on a marketplace doesn’t create demand...
Sometimes a great domain needs years to find the right buyer.
Sometimes the price is wrong.
And sometimes the domain simply isn’t as good as you think.
Knowing the difference is what selling domain names is really about.
If you own domain names you want to sell, whether it’s one or a thousand, I think this is worth reading:

The Efty Distribution Network keeps growing.
This week, https://t.co/prob1ld97t and https://t.co/IYy5WUm5wa have joined EDN, bringing the network to more than a dozen distribution partners.
More partners. More discovery. More eyeballs on your domains 👀💸
Increasing buyer trust is an ongoing effort at https://t.co/pnrQvIPBb8 and our latest update gives stories from founders and their experience buying a domain with us a prominent place through the marketplace.

The redesign isn't just visual.
We completely rethought the experience.
Working with Dutch designer Meike Zoer, we created a bold new visual identity that breaks away from the traditional look of domain marketplaces.
We believe premium doesn't have to mean predictable.
