Reading the comments, Tesla fans/shareholders are pretty pissed about the double standard for advertising.
“Great products speak for themselves”. But only if it’s a Tesla product
@surfranchvibes@BoBbyPleWniaK If you decide to sell shares, make sure you select “sell specific” or whatever wording RH uses. That way you can select shares with the highest cost basis to sell and avoid paying crazy amounts in cap gains.
Tesla Never Stopped Developing The Model S — Revelations with @JasonCammisa
The Tesla Model S is the most significant car of the last 75 years. It entered production as a Car of the Year winner, but never stopped improving. The world's first software-defined car was continually upgraded, in both hardware and software, so that the final Signature Edition shares little more than its name and skin with the original. This is the story of the Tesla Model S.
In 2002, Gwynne Shotwell was a 38-year-old single mom with a stable aerospace job when she walked into a dingy El Segundo office to drop off a colleague. Elon Musk cornered her for ten minutes, grilled her on the rocket business, and created a VP of Sales role on the spot. She agonized for weeks (private space was a graveyard of failed startups) but one day on the LA freeway she grabbed her phone and called him: “I’ve been a fucking idiot. I’m taking the job.” She became roughly employee #7.
Three Falcon 1 launches exploded in 2006–2007. SpaceX was days from bankruptcy. While engineers scrambled, Gwynne kept selling anyway. She flew to Iridium, closed a make-or-break deal tilted heavily in the customer’s favor because she believed so fiercely it would work. Then, on September 28, 2008, the fourth Falcon 1 finally reached orbit. Hours later she and Elon walked into NASA and sealed a $1.6 billion contract to resupply the space station— pulling the company back from the brink.
That single mom who bet everything became president and COO, the reason SpaceX didn’t die and the reason it now flies more rockets than the rest of the world combined. Legend. 🚀
@EricETesla For the love of god, when robotaxi is launched, convince your boss to legitimately advertise the features tailored for the disabled/handicapped. It will land so well
@Mikekantorski I don’t think they ever make this trim if the RWD long range remains at 48.5k. Not enough of a price difference for customers to give up so much range.
@Hilbe I think they likely include most of these features by the time standard launches. They have to differentiate and encourage buyers to pay extra for the premium trim vs just waiting for standard.
