1) Generous universal public goods and services.
2) Well designed and well funded regulations, of the powerful.
3) Steeply progressive taxes, including on wealth, specifically to prevent dangerous accumulation.
@Baaltorac@voiceofrabbis Territory is not an ethnic right in the first place. Self-determination belongs to a demos — but the demos and the democracy it creates are mutually constitutive, each defining the other. Ethnicity, race, religion, these don’t properly enter into it at all.
@chaneybrad@ASVPMarcos@jason_paladino@DenimsTV No, not really. There’s no “reasonable” range in your particular example.
You cannot make something unreasonable into reasonable just because you tweet the word “reasonable” about it. Your position is objectively stupid.
@chaneybrad@ASVPMarcos@jason_paladino@DenimsTV If I’m critiquing your content, and I display it for that purpose, in the way the is one was, it’s protected. If I also say “go pirate shit, do crimes” in the same video, that’s a separate (free speech) issue, and the usage of the content is STILL fair use. Get it?
Klein’s own complaint alleged that Denims used his video “for the exact opposite purpose,” to defend Hasan Piker rather than condemn him. The court said: exactly. Different purpose means transformative. Klein argued himself into losing. Is he being fleeced by his lawyers?
Today, Judge Wesley Hsu cited Hosseinzadeh v. Klein repeatedly to rule that @DenimsTV’s livestream was transformative fair use. The case Klein won to protect himself is now protecting the Pro-Palestine streamers he’s suing.
@MQniverse@karencruzen1 No, it just means that at the earlier stage, we have to get better candidates. Only if we fail that very basic step do we not vote. And this applies to local, school board, town, city, county, district and state elections.
Lesson is not “don’t vote,” but to vote belligerently.
@thematrixb0t@Guy_online__ I’m wondering about how a super tiny minority declaring outright existential war on the vast majority in the most dickheaded asshole way is going to work out in the coming years.
