I agree. That’s why I’m against teaching new vocabulary daily and forcing children to use it any way they can. Teach it through an engaging text- give it real meaning and purpose. Let children explore, play and practise with words- then they’ll understand and use them.

Hate the idea of ‘Wow’ words. Seen so many children use words really badly when ‘squeezing’ them in to their writing.

All words...every single one of them are potentially ‘Wow’words if we are good enough writers to use them well.
