The Hodgkin Lymphoma Prognostic Score (IPS) is taught as 7 unrelated risk factors.
That’s misleading.
IPS is really a snapshot of the Reed–Sternberg cell’s inflammatory output 🏭🔥
Albumin ↓ Hb ↓
↳ IL-6 flooding the system, acute phase response, hepcidin on overdrive
WBC ↑
↳ G-CSF calling in myeloid reinforcements
Lymphocytes ↓
↳ IL-10 and TGF-β quietly switching off host immunity
Male sex
↳ Higher baseline pro-inflammatory tone
Stage IV disease
↳ More tumor, wider cytokine spillover
So when you calculate IPS, you’re not doing arithmetic.
You’re reading the biology of inflammation.
That’s why it works.

Stop using Turmeric for cuts/wounds.
When people get injured, treat them, don't marinate them.
Even though some studies claim that Curcumin is a potent antiseptic, it is not a good idea to use Turmeric for wounds.
Firstly, the Turmeric in the market is likely to be adulterated. Secondly, it is not sterile, kept out in the open, might have dust and other contaminants.
The turmeric might end up doing more harm than good.
If you want an all natural cure that will actually help, just use plain water and wash out all the debris.
Stop the bleeding with compression.
Take the patient to the nearest health centre and let them do the dressing in an aseptic way.
It's very important to care about the caregiver. Unfortunately, caregiver burnout is often underappreciated 😭
I have been a caregiver, I've seen my mom struggle during my dad's transplant. Incredibly tough days 🙏🏼

MRD is essential for us to make progress. It is better than ORR or CR.
We are focused on helping our patients live longer, with better quality of life, and to cure myeloma. We are fully aware of that. That’s our essential being.
This is a disaster waiting to happen. How can Indian regulators allow this?
A teratogenic cancer drug and a diabetes pill with the same name. cc: @nramind@nambath@ramyakannan
Monoclonal antibodies (MAb):
First MAb generated: 1975
First MAb licensed: 1986 (Muromonab against CD3)
Technique used: Hybridoma
Developed by: Kohler & Milstein (Nobel prize 1984)
Concept: to immortalize the antibody producing cells by fusing them with tumor cells
Young resident on rounds.
Resident: how you feeling?
Patient: ok, no problems. Thanks for asking.
1 hour later rounds with head of department.
Head: how you feeling?
Patient: well, it hurts here and there and there...what can you do about it?
Everytime🤣
