We will soon be using every inch available to us, from tunnels to space and everything in between. China is taking a concrete step to regulate the low-altitude economy, which is expected to grow very fast.
China’s Civil Aviation Administration (CAAC) has created a new Low-Altitude Safety Department to support and regulate drones, eVTOLs (electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles), and flying cars.

🚁 Advancing eVTOL Commercialization in Thailand – EHang Engages Top Government Leaders
On March 19 in Bangkok, EHang’s management team, led by Founder, Chairman & CEO Huazhi Hu, held high-level talks with senior Thai officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn; Deputy Permanent Secretary Mr. Punya Chupanit; OTP Director-General Mr. Jiraroth Sukolrat; CAAT Director General Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon; and CAAT Deputy Director General Mr. Kajonpat Maklin.
Discussions focused on leveraging EHang’s pilotless eVTOL to build a new three-dimensional transportation system in Thailand—alleviating congestion, enhancing emergency response, and enabling low-altitude connectivity.
Following the meeting, EHang signed an MOU with Bangkok Land, Aerial Sea Thailand, and China Harbour Engineering(Thailand) to develop Urban Air Mobility (UAM) solutions spanning passenger transport, logistics, emergency response, and medical rescue.
Thailand is a key strategic market for EHang. Together with our partners, we are committed to supporting Thailand’s vision of becoming a regional hub for future aviation technology in Asia-Pacific.

Key highlights from our chat:
✅ Policy Momentum: The low-altitude economy has been mentioned in China's central government work report for three consecutive years—now elevated as a national emerging pillar industry.
✅ Commercial Path: Starting with aerial sightseeing—EH216-S commercial operations launching in March.
✅ Cost Advantage: With the supply chain advantage and our pricing, EH216-S: 2.39M RMB, VT35: 6.5M RMB, "made in China" eVTOLs will be very competitive globally.
2026 is the year commercial operations take off. 🚀
