@ItsAndyRyan I recently read that football is so named as a game played on foot, as opposed to horseback. Maybe apocryphal but gives more weight to the American argument
@jimb0_12 I still think it could have been different if they let him open in Windies instead of Trott. 3 extra tests to learn and pad the stats, could have survived the Ashes and prospered
@jimb0_12 Having watched jhye Richardson for Yorkshire this season he needs to be excluded from any ‘net positive’ discussion (long winded way of saying he’s crap)
@lewis_goodall I have a vague theory that Starmer is willingly being a sponge for all the hatred before passing the mantle over to someone with a clean slate
@jimb0_12 Is there a chance it’s Bashir again? Wouldn’t be my pick but he has a “respectable” record so far this season which maybe makes it a lazy selection
@jimb0_12 Think it’s good for smith to get some number 3 skills under his belt, should make him a better number 7 in those matches where he has to be a bit more circumspect (e.g. th ashes)
@FootballCliches@CDEccleshare@D_C_W Read this on Paul Reaney’s wiki the other day, feels pretty tenuous especially given he was mixed race and capped before Viv Anderson, arguably a more noticeable feat! Raises the question of which is the most common name that has never been capped for England? Simon?
