@MizzouEdBridge I like Ms. Miller's idea of giving students different ways to show they've mastered the material. Students model their success in different ways, so it makes sense to give them different ways to show they understand the content. #SayYestoSES

@MizzouEdBridge I loved how she brought up knowing the demographics of the school. My former host teacher knew all kinds of things like the free and reduced lunch ratio and the average income of the families in the area. She went above and beyond to truly understand her students #SayYestoSES

@MizzouEdBridge In terms of getting to know your students and their families, it reminds me of how all the really good teachers at my high school knew who their student's older or younger siblings were and if they've taught them before #SayYestoSES

@MizzouEdBridge A3. For me, the hardest thing is not knowing how a lesson will go. I like to know whats going to happen so not knowing if the lesson will be a huge success or a complete failure is always stressful for me #NJAM4550

@MizzouEdBridge A2. The resource about how to teach Black History all year long was super interesting. I tried incorporating some of those ideas into our current unit for my host class. My host teacher liked the idea and I'll be talking about it in my next lesson! #NJAM4550

@The_MatthewGreb @MizzouEdBridge This is an awesome idea that I've seen before in my host class. He would allow students to just come take what they need and other teachers, principals, or students would come in and donate other kinds of food as well #SayYestoSES

@dcgnm27 @MizzouEdBridge That's a pretty cool mindset to have since one of the most stressful parts of being a kid is time management. Sports, clubs, jobs, and family/friends can be a lot. Adding on busy work can just make things even worse for the student #SayYestoSES

@MizzouEdBridge A3. I want to try something along the lines of mental health. Be open to mental health breaks, weekly check-ins, and creating a safe environment to share thoughts and feelings. Some kids can't talk about these things at home so I want to give them that opportunity #SayYestoSES

@dcgnm27 @MizzouEdBridge I think its especially tough for kids since most adults have the belief that they're all full of energy and shouldn't be tired. But kids need plenty of sleep and rest to stay fully engaged in class #SayYestoSES

@MizzouEdBridge A2. I really like the idea of looking at the negative attention the student is seeking to try and understand what's behind it. It's impossible to know everything that's going on in a student's life. #SayYestoSES

@MizzouEdBridge I think building those relationships is so important, especially with parents. I've seen some teachers even do a weekly homework alert to parents so they know what their kid should be working on #SayYestoSES
