Day two of Everyone’s Invited sessions @AlloaAcademy.
Hard hitting & relevant messages today & we are really proud of how our S3 pupils dealt with it all. Our S5 pupil, Kaitlyn, will be writing an article on the visits - &their impact - for her Journalism class 👏🏼. @ei_movement
“I wanted all woman victims of rape – not just when they have been drugged, rape exists at all levels – I want those women to say: Mrs Pelicot did it, we can do it too. When you’re raped there is shame, and it’s not for us to have shame, it’s for them.” - Gisèle Pelicot 💙
Yesterday, Gisele Pelicot was named Knight of the Legion of Honour, France's top civic honour. Now feels like an appropriate time to share some of her most inspiring quotes💙
The Diddy verdict exposes the pervasive reality of rape culture on a massive scale. It reflects society’s ongoing refusal to acknowledge that abuse and power imbalances can exist within relationships.
It underscores the emotional toll of navigating the criminal justice system, often retraumatising survivors while reinforcing shame and stigma. At the same time, it sends a dangerous message to perpetrators - that they can abuse with impunity.
Recently I covered a story on the “Is sexual violence becoming normalised?” - something that felt was extremely prevalent at the moment.
I spoke with @somacjsara from @ei_movement on rape culture and what we can do to better educate young people.

“Extreme misogyny is an ideology in its own right. If the government doesn’t recognise that, they are failing women and girls.”
Journalist @polblonde on Woman’s Hour discussing the Southport killings, leaked extremism report and why misogyny must be seen as a driver of violence.
Teaching Critical Analysis
At Everyone's Invited, we believe fostering critical analysis empowers children to navigate the digital landscape safely, make informed decisions and directly challenge harmful, misogynistic rhetoric. @ei_movement
