What makes this so disheartening is that this stagnation is not born of necessity, but of habit. Even Apple, a company known for its conservatism, has never dared to treat consumers this way. Yet Samsung repeatedly tests the limits, using “it’s still usable” as justification and “you’ll understand” as an unspoken assumption. Algorithms are packaged as progress, launch narratives are rewritten year after year, but the memories of long-time users are not erased. You begin to realize that what you are waiting for is no longer the next product, but a genuine response.

When a company can face consumers with the same hardware for five straight years, what it is consuming is no longer technological headroom, but trust itself. And once trust is repeatedly ignored, what remains is silence and departure. Awakening does not require anger. It only requires clarity: when even the will to improve no longer exists, no amount of algorithms or storytelling can bring back a user who feels respected.
