Our 2021 @eightparables film retreat has officially begun! Meet the second cohort. Joining from: Nashville, Seattle, Orange County, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Boston, Durham, Atlanta.

But unified by a shared passion to use their God-given gifts to tell stories for the Kingdom.

And there, in community, we find our true selves, and what God has called us to do with our lives.

In short, this is CHURCH. And out of this sharing of our lives, real ART and BEAUTY begin to form.

More than winning awards, making films is about DOING LIFE TOGETHER. It’s about spurring one another on, because being called to be a light in Hollywood does not come easy. In fact, it takes a community of believers. It takes putting on the armor of God.

And so its food for the soul to gather, and share our lives. To listen to our stories. And share the dreams that God has put on our hearts. Because there, we strengthen our resolve to put on our armor and return to spiritual battle.

Two years ago, when God gave us this film ‘Dirty Laundry’ to steward, He also sent into our lives these five creatives, who make up our first cohort. Each of them were aspiring storytellers, with a passion to make films that communicate the message of Faith, Hope and Love.

We wrapped the premiere of our short film 'DIRTY LAUNDRY' at @FilmFestBurbank and @walesfilmfest. This award for BEST FAITH-BASED SHORT is shared with an incredible group of @eightparables creatives. This is the 1st time seeing our film on the big screen & not the last! #onwards

We are excited to see God continue to lead each of them & position them as soldiers for the Kingdom across various media platforms. Our prayer is that the God will continue to bring favor, open doors, unexpected surprises, & incredible breakthroughs in their creative journeys.

Our team produced this film knowing that this is first & foremost God’s film. That God cares for the heartbroken — especially those searching for redemption and breakthrough in marriage. This award is a testament to the glory & creativity of God, & His healing power through film.
