Program Manager at @InclDevPartners. Former @PeaceCorps volunteer (Romania & Gambia). Advocate for inclusive ed. Mom to infant & amazingly tenacious preschooler
We found that the majority of interactions (63%) had a positive emotional tone, and most (54%) were focused on instructional support. Teachers with 3+ years of experience had more positive interactions & higher incidence of instructional support #InclusiveEducation#Kenya 3/3
**New article** Very excited to share that my article (with
@YSitabkhan & Tabitha N. Kilonzo) "Classroom environment for children with disabilities in Kenyan preschools" has just been published in the International Journal of Inclusive Education https://t.co/cYykitYrui 1/3
We looked at interactions between children w/ #disabilities & their teachers & peers in 5 preschool classrooms in Kenya, classifying them by both type of interaction (instruction support, behavior management, general classroom) & whether they were positive or negative in tone 2/3
Listen. The amount of mind Olympics Kamala has to do to not come across as angry, emotional, combative but also be firm, warm, honest, direct ...all while this mf’er is straight up lying and gaslighting her.
Whew. The strength and the talent of Black women.
Just a reminder: Amy Coney Barrett would never have become an appellate judge if GOP Senate had confirmed President Obama's nominee Myra Selby, a Black woman, to Indiana seat on 7th Circuit in 2016. But GOP blocked Selby, kept seat open & Trump filled it w/Barrett. #CourtPacking
Amy Coney Barret has been on bench for only three years. She’s already had colleagues accuse her of not following Brown v. Board AND Griggs v. Duke Power which held policies adversely impacting people of color constitute discrimination. Breathtaking record for a SCOTUS nominee.
I'm a parent, author, and a former college interviewer. Please hear me - in this time of stress people want to "flood" their kids with books about racism. Please provide 20 joyful books for every one book on racism. They also need to know POC kids are like every other kid.
Great but heartbreaking article about the problem solving that led to fortified flour being more widely used in Tanzania, and the roadblocks that #COVID-19 is presenting. https://t.co/ZBVusIDisU
Can you help me out #DisabilityTwitter? If you're a person with a disability who prefers #PersonFirstLanguage, why? Feel free to DM me.
*Not here to judge.
**NOT a thread for debating person-first vs. identity-first.
***If you don't have a disability please don't reply.
Promising inclusive education program in #Indonesia, excited to see the impact results when they're released: Including children with #disability in education: Strategies from DFAT's INOVASI https://t.co/v6zqdWgUa2
Marca had a remarkable way of bringing out the best within us. For me, she was a trusted voice and a persistent, buoyant spirit—an example that progress can be slow, but it’s always possible. We’ll miss her, but we’re far better off because of her fight. https://t.co/gVkQvENtIs
