@olouwafemi_k @CourtesyofJess@PaolaAudrey That is a fact, irrespective of my dating pool , or yours for that matter. How my dating pool or what I offer to the table became the subject of a general statement you could have countered with a simple rebuttal is beyond me.
@olouwafemi_k @CourtesyofJess@PaolaAudrey Lol. Being dependent doesn't mean you have nothing to bring to the table. A woman musn't bring the same thing(s) a man brings to the table. My assertion has been true for most of human history and is still true today for most relationships in most human cultures.
@PaolaAudrey@CourtesyofJess In addition , I am still to understand why capitalism gets such a bad rep. Would you rather have hobbies which double as skills you couldn't make a living out of ? One would think being able to perform , while taking a pleasure in doing so would be a good thing. For most people.
@PaolaAudrey@CourtesyofJess Je n'en disconviens pas (first phrase) . But life has been suffering with (having) hobbies being a privilege reserved for a very few. E.g. kings would hunt for leasure, while peasants would hunt for survival. Only in recent times have leasures/hobbies been democratized.
@CourtesyofJess@PaolaAudrey What you're taking for granted IMHO , is your current situation both in space/time that allows you to say what you said above. Your situation could be different (it is for most people) and would make your statement inconsequential as you wouldn't be able to do it anyways.
@CourtesyofJess@PaolaAudrey My point was that given the reality of things , we should be grateful that we *can* do some things just for fun (most living humans can't) . Approach it from a position of gratitude instead of one of deservedness/entitlement.
@CourtesyofJess@PaolaAudrey Most (traditional) men don't mind. Women are and have always been mostly dependent. The problem is (modern) women have nothing to offer (anymore) for men who are ready to burden themselves by taking care of them. Entitlement 2.0.
