I am beyond frustrated with the reckless behavior of some motorists on our roads.
I was struck from behind by a motorist while I was slowing at the pedestrian crossing near Kalafaanu School on Ameenee Magu. The impact threw me across the crossing and under his motorcycle, injuring my left leg.
This was not just an accident, it was a life-threatening incident that could have easily resulted in death. Many lives have already been lost due to reckless driving in similar situations.
What frustrates me the most was the response at the scene. The police appeared casual, and the motorist showed little concern, despite the severity of what had just occurred.
This happened at a school crossing, while a pedestrian was crossing, an area where children and families are constantly at risk. Reckless driving here is not just careless. it is deadly.
Authorities must take this seriously. Enforce the law, hold offenders accountable, and ensure pedestrian safety before more lives are lost.
