As the United States celebrates its 250th year, Deputy Prime Minister @DavidLammy sat down with @MarshallScholar scholars and alumni for a conversation about the US-UK relationship, the value of educational exchange, and why the US and UK are #GreaterTogether.

Lammy, who studied at @Harvard_Law, spoke with @DhruvakMirani (currently at the @UofMaryland's @TerpHonors College and beginning his Marshalls experience this fall), Dr. Rebecca Peters (Marshall class of 2014), and Katie Scheiber (Marshall class of 2020).

Calligraphers, data scientists, marathon runners, sea turtle geneticists, disability advocates and novelists – these high-flying scholars have a range of talents. 2,000 Americans have come to the UK so far for the prestigious Marshall Scholarship, established to retain and continue the Special Relationship after World War II. @usaBritish

Our brilliant Marshall Scholars change the world in so many ways every day.

In recognition of trailblazing research which has advanced the frontiers of human understanding in medicine, biotechnology and AI, Dr John Jumper - already a Nobel Prize winner - has now been presented with the prestigious Marshall Medal.

The Marshall Scholarship, supported by the British government, awards a cohort of US students annually, the chance to study in the UK. Dr Jumper studied at Cambridge University under this programme in 2007.
