A New Month Prayer for Our Kidnapped School Children and a Call for Compassion
As we welcome a new month, our hearts are heavy with concern and prayers for the school children who were abducted and are presently held in captivity, far away from the safety of their homes, parents, teachers, and loved ones. While many families are celebrating the beginning of a new month with hope and gratitude, several parents continue to endure sleepless nights, uncertainty, and emotional pain as they await the safe return of their children.
Children are the hope of every nation and the custodians of tomorrow. They deserve classrooms, books, playgrounds, and opportunities to learnโnot fear, violence, or captivity. Every child has a dream, a future, and a purpose that must be protected. Their safety should remain a collective responsibility of all citizens and institutions.
Today, we offer sincere prayers for these innocent children and all those affected by this unfortunate situation. We pray that God Almighty watches over them, protects them from harm, strengthens their spirits, and grants them a safe reunion with their families.
To those holding these innocent children, we make a heartfelt appeal: let mercy prevail over cruelty. These children have committed no offense and should not be made to suffer for circumstances beyond their control. We appeal to your conscience and humanity to release them unharmed and allow them to return to their parents, families, and schools. Every human life is precious, and every child deserves the opportunity to live, learn, and grow in peace.
We equally call on the Federal Government of Nigeria, security agencies, state authorities, community leaders, and all relevant stakeholders to do everything humanly possible to secure the immediate and safe release of these children. The protection of lives and property remains one of the foremost responsibilities of government, and every available resource should be deployed to ensure that these young Nigerians regain their freedom.
As Scripture reminds us, "Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed." (Psalm 82:3). This is a moment for compassion, unity, and decisive action.
May this new month bring good news to the affected families. May tears be turned into joy, fear into hope, and sorrow into celebration. May every child in captivity return home safely, and may peace, security, and justice prevail throughout our nation.
Happy New Month to all Nigerians. May God bless our children, bless our schools.
The Federal Republic of Nigeria will be OK with Peter Obi tomorrow.
