What on earth @Gatwick_Airport @TUIUK Sat on runway for over 30mins 'waiting for steps' to allow us to disembark flight from Dalaman! 1st steps arrived after 15+mins were apparently unusable!?!

Otherwise he needs far too much time to orientate and switch in to the social and educational demand when he arrives.

I insisted when he was finding school, relationships & self regulating difficult.
It turns out he has adhd. He may find scrolling tiktok etc normalising & dopamine giving, but it's clear he benefits from time,space & demand...

I told her how detrimental it is to have such expectation, let alone then have the ignorance to demand it!?!

My mind was blown further by the dept head defending her when she left at the end!!!

@kallmemeg The fact is, it's a reason not excuse.
For some families it may be siblings one chance for a break from being a carer, or sibling of a child with a disability. I've been on holidays where 'able bodied' siblings have joined every activity to holiday without responsibility 💙💛

As someone who works with adults with learning disabilities and therefore supporting individuals parents and carers too...
A holiday, not a month off, so surely the benefits (for pupil et al) outweigh a week missed lessons

@SLT_Francesca Exactly! I sat shouting at the radio in the car on my way home from work - 40mins later than my finish time... Do they understand the higher incidence of mental ill health in ND firstly? And secondly, maybe there should be mental health days alongside leavelike other countries
