Ya’ll really playing with a 30-50% DEATH RATE in acute phase, virus?
Plus it’s entering into a world FULL of immune damage/dysfunction & vascular damage from C19.
This is how you get things like this to mutate btw.
FFS
The passengers from the Hantavirus cruise should not have been allowed to take commercial flights home
The virus spreads person to person
There’s asymptomatic transmission
It has a 40% fatality rate
Asking them to “self isolate” after mixing with thousands of people is a joke
“I can’t do another pandemic.” Really? Because most of you haven’t cared about the current one that’s been happening for six years now. Covid causes cancer, embolisms, strokes, and heart attacks, and you can’t be bothered to mask with THAT.
Thinking about all the 'essential workers' whose bosses will threaten to fire them or otherwise retaliate if they try to wear a mask at work to protect themselves from hantavirus, COVID, and whatever other fresh hell awaits us.
If ANY virus is airborne and symptoms take days or weeks to show, the best way we currently have to prevent the spread is everyone wearing respirators, regardless of if they 'feel sick'. But so many cities and states banned mask wearing. And every level of govt has stigmatized it
i’m being so serious. everybody needs to start masking again because of that cruise ship. people already got off the boat and went on flights that were in contact w people who’ve died from it and/or are sick themselves. take this seriously it’s a 40% mortality rate for EVERYONE
The evidence that Covid can fuck you up in probably more ways than you can think of continues to grow. Around 500,000 peer-reviewed scientific articles to date on how it can damage the heart, brain, kidneys, immune system, etc.
It's never too late to decide to protect yourself
I'm not gonna lie. It's frustrating when you ask a doctor for help, but because their ego is slightly more fragile than an ice cream cone, you have to pretend you're incapable of pattern recognition and only got uploaded into your body the day before.
Caring about COVID feels a lot like caring about climate change. Pretty much everyone knows it’s real, knows it’s a massive threat, knows our kids and grandkids will pay the cost for our inaction, yet prioritizes comfort and wilful ignorance over action.
@MementoMousie nuh uh as praxis
i swear it's so frustrating that so many issues hinge on not being able to see a problem for yourself, which means complete erasure of the problem is perfectly acceptable
please recognize your privilege today if you are not living through the atrocities in the middle east, and spread awareness as their voices are being silenced. its always fuck israel, fuck trump, free palestine and everything in between.
You know, I met a lovely Iranian woman last summer and as I explained how difficult it was witnessing a Holocaust against my community in Palestine, she callously responded, "I hope Israel invades our country." 1/
Begging people to understand that disability is always political. If you are experiencing new limitations, symptoms, or baselines, please tap into existing disabled communities. Weve BEEN fighting against ableism forever. Your exp is not novel. There are ppl to learn from.
A woman in Saskatchewan needs surgery for a parathyroid issue and is being offered MAiD instead.
There’s no one in the province who can perform the procedure and the government won’t pay to send her elsewhere.
This is why disability advocates warn about assisted dying
“your tattoos won’t look good when you’re old” what a privilege it is to adorn your body with art and carry it with you for life, even more so to watch it change and grow through deepened smile lines and wrinkles and white hair. aging is so beautiful
