NSF OPP Postdoctoral Fellow at UMass, Amherst. Studying past climate in the Arctic/Antarctic using organic geochemistry and comparing to model output |she/her|
Happy #FossilFriday! #EXP400 sedimentologist @ejtibbett displays a #gastropod from a fresh core. With > 60,000 species, this diverse class of #mollusks adapted to land π πΏ& H20π. This imprint of the shell's exterior- an #external mold- can be an environmental πclue!π #IODP
This commentary is worth a read if you're in the geoscience community. I'm really proud of the work Anahi did for this and I'm honored to have been included!

My last PhD thesis chapter was published!! π It was a great project with @NatalieBurls, @DavidKHutch, and @SFeakins comparing EOT proxy temps to model simulations which were then used to estimate the change in pCO2 at the EOT. It's also open access!

Presented my #AGU22 poster this morning! Had a great time chatting about comparing proxies and models for the EOT! Now hoping I don't miss my flight from all the exciting research talk π
Just a reminder that #AGU22 has free professional headshots. Super fast and easy! Highly recommend as many friends have found new jobs through LinkedIn in the past few years!
Gotta be honest really weird to see my face at #AGU22, butt it comes from an amazing opportunity to be part of the 1st AGU LANDInG PRFP cohort! This has been a great DEI networking opportunity and I've learned so much. If you are curious about the program feel free to message me!
In Chicago for #AGU22! If you are here Friday come check out my poster in the morning (PP52E)! I'll be presenting on the work from my last thesis chapter comparing Antarctic proxy records to model simulations for both air and sea surface temperatures for the EOT!
@christapeterso It should be more regulated. The major dialysis company in California has incredibly high rates and does not report infections or properly monitor their clinics. My Mom contracted a blood infection at one and ended up in the ICU. Then had to go back to the same clinic
My paper is published and is open access! Here we look at snapshots of time across the Cenozoic creating SST and air temperature records for the Antarctic Peninsula. Huge thank you to my collaborators @SFeakins, Sophie Warny, @leafwax, and Julia Wellner!π https://t.co/u0Mx8ZyyGm
@qeios@SFeakins @leafwax I have not but my coauthor Julia Wellner and Sophie Warny have! For this project we applied organic geochemistry techniques to previously collected material stored at @osumgr. There are many cores from the Antarctic that we can revisit and learn more about Antarctic climate!
@tluckie13 I've been thinking about this. One of the reasons I don't think I can/want to go into academia. The constant stress for funding. I've grown up with financial insecurity. I don't want to have that looming over me in a career. I would like to feel financially secure for once
