@LucyDownes22 Thanks, but why? I understand that the Treasurer nominally has control over the budget, but since it’s prime time political advertising, I’m intrigued as to why the PM hasn’t taken the reins and accepted the glory for themselves over the years.
@standupmaths Matt, have you seen the latest FIFA World Cup ball? I’d love to see a video from you about the maths of this ball. Overlapping kites and triangles. https://t.co/a4KSDvyagP
Maths people - is there enough information in this photo of an interesting tile I saw once to work out what fraction is the rhombus? #maths@Cshearer41@misterwootube
@MathsMrH Act out one of the central events in the book in class; put the students into the story and give them an aha moment when they get to that bit in the text.
@EduSum Listening to Periodic Tales - the curious lives of the elements by Hugh Alderney-Williams. Not my area of teaching but good for general knowledge.
@thetennistalk1 these are the lawyers for Djokovic and the Commonwealth. Only Australian lawyers can argue in Australian courts so Djokovic would have employed lawyers in Australia to argue his case.
The showdown has begun and is underway with a joke from Judge Anthony Kelly. The other players today are Nick Wood SC and Paul Holdenson QC for Novak Djokovic and Christpher Tran for Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews (& the Comonwealth).
@aliceleung Used Hovercams for years, but our school switched to IPEVO V4K cameras which are cheaper, lighter and seem to be better quality. Check it out.
@hogesonline @OfficialUoM@YoungICTExplore True, there is some potential for that. Here’s the text of part of a talk I gave about YICTE a few years ago. Explains the process I’ve come to use at my school.
@hogesonline @OfficialUoM@YoungICTExplore I like the wild suggestions. I usually tell my teams to dream big and we work out what’s actually an achievable solution or part of a solution in the next phase. It means the students start with the big idea and then explain where their product fits in the big solution.
@hogesonline @OfficialUoM@YoungICTExplore YICTE usually entails finding problems which can be solved used technology somehow. I’d spend time on identifying issues of interest to the girls which they may wish to turn into a project. Reinforces the idea that time spent planning often saves time later.
@zeuxis12 @StudyMaths It has no specific name. It’s made by combining a parenthesis (the half moon) and a vinculum (the horizontal bar) to make a “long division sign”. It more or less proves that mathematical notation is impermanent - it is all just at the whim of the next text or syllabus writer.
