When you don’t play as hard as you can every minute that you’re in the game, you’re making a selfish choice. You’re saying the outcome & your teammates don’t matter & aren’t important to you. Giving 100% & playing tough is the only right choice to make for yourself & your team!
DON'T LOOK BACK AND WISH YOU HAD:
- worked harder
- been a better teammate
- overcome your doubts and fears
- not been your own worst enemy
- listened to your coach
- been in better shape
- taken advantage of the offseason
- appreciated what you had

What IMPACT do you have on your Team?
▪️Do you raise the Standard or lower it?
▪️Do you improve the Mindset or diminish it?
▪️Do you raise the Effort or lower it?
▪️Do you improve the Attitude or hurt it?
▪️Are you WE first or ME first?
Make a ➕ IMPACT.
Too many high school athletes make the frosh or JV team and think it’s a punishment or beneath them. It’s more important to play minutes, get reps, add to your game etc. In a year or two it will be your turn to shine on the varsity…focus on your development + trust the process.
"The secret is there is no secret.
I think we are all looking for shortcuts - a winning edge.
This is a process.
Although we are looking for the winning edge, shortcuts aren't one of them." -Tomlin
The 'secret' is simply dedicating yourself to the process of hard work, sacrifice, and a commitment to mastering the fundamentals.
"If a coach holds you accountable, it's because they care more about your future than your feelings." @DaveAnderson100
Holding someone accountable is something done for someone NOT to someone.
The greatest players are low on entitlement and high on accountability.
“The team has to come first even though we all have individual goals and preferences. If you pay attention, and you’re coachable and you work hard, you’ve gotta improve. That’s really what it’s about,” Bill Belichick
The words on a wall only come to life with your actions!
Guess what?
▪️Getting up for a 6:00 am practice is Hard
▪️Great effort when you are tired is Hard
▪️Challenging your teammates is Hard
▪️Positive energy is Hard
▪️Being vocal in practice is Hard
Do you know what else is Hard?
WINNING.
Choose wisely.
