A reminder to all NHS staff: you are loved, wanted and appreciated by millions of Londoners, and we collectively condemn the vile racism you continue to experience.
That people feel emboldened to direct such racist language at anyone, let alone people like you offering them their care, is a damning indictment of how far-right rhetoric has poisoned public life.
To anyone who abuses NHS staff: you will be caught, and you will face the full force of the law.

15 July 1919. Acclaimed novelist Iris Murdoch was born in Dublin, Ireland. She’s best known for her novels about sexual relationships, morality and the power of the unconscious. In 2008 The Times ranked her 12th on its list of The 50 Greatest British Writers since 1945.
Israel is burning the forest in Markaba, South Lebanon.
Israel isn’t only committing genocide in Lebanon — it is also deliberately wiping out ecosystems, wildlife and forests.
This is ecocide.
A policeman, seen by millions on TV, repeatedly striking a miner with a truncheon at Orgreave is not to face any criminal charges.
The announcement came from the Director of Public Prosecutions #OnThisDay 1984.

NEW: The Assisted Dying Bill is returning to Parliament this week.
Labour MP Lauren Edwards will reintroduce it on Wednesday after coming 2nd in the private members’ ballot.
“The process has been frustrated by a small minority”, she argues.

Do you know the Conservative party under Kemi Badenoch intend to oppose the ban on hunting wildlife. Badenoch recently attended the Heythrop Hunt fundraising Point to Point to support fox hunting.
Our wildlife are not safe in her hands.
Here she is pictured with notorious hunt thug Ollie Dale, who assaulted a female hunt sab in November 2024 for which he received a conditional caution. He was further charged with three offences of illegal hunting, including at least one fox kill.
He was subsequently let off the Hunting Act charges, proving once again that the Hunting Act fails to secure justice for our wildlife, and perfectly demonstrates why a real and effective ban - which Badenoch intends to oppose - is desperately needed.
Badenoch would have - or should have - been briefed about this, but chose to meet and have her picture taken with this violent wildlife killer, anyway.
You can read about the cruelty and crimes of Ollie Dale on our Rogue's Gallery here 👇🏼https://t.co/FhgXk979Su
There are local elections in May, send a message to politicians who would back barbaric blood sports that they are not welcome - Use your vote wisely.
Here's one of @reformparty_uk's candidates for next month's local elections in Westminster seriously telling me on X in 2023 that: “Hate is too weak a word for what I feel towards the NHS. I’d tear it down and salt the earth upon which it stood.”
Oh, and he also has a track record of abusing NHS nurses online.
No wonder Nigel Farage - who on multiple occasions has publicly advocated replacing the NHS with an insurance-based system – sees him as an ideal Reform UK councillor.
Vote for Reform - and for nice chaps like James - if you want your NHS gutted, destroyed & replaced with an exploiting-the-sick-for-profit corporate alternative, folks.
Ben Delo was pardoned by Trump last year, after pleading guilty to violating US money-laundering rules via his crypto firm.
He's now moving to UK to donate to Reform - in a move set to deepen its financial dependence on crypto-billionaires.

The President of the United States learned that Robert Mueller had died.
And he picked up his phone and typed:
“Good. I’m glad he’s dead.”
I need you to stop.
Put down whatever you’re doing and feel the full weight of those words.
Good. I’m glad he’s dead.
Said by the man who holds the most powerful office in the history of human civilization. The office of Washington. Of Lincoln. Of Roosevelt standing in the rubble of Pearl Harbor promising a nation trembling in the dark that we would rise.
That office.
Those words.
Now let me tell you who Robert Mueller was.
He did not have to go to Vietnam.
He had every reason not to. A Princeton degree. A blown-out knee. A future waiting for him in the comfort of civilian life.
He waited a full year for that knee to heal, just so he could serve.
Let that sink in.
He walked into hell when other men were running from it. He came home with a Bronze Star for heroism and a Purple Heart soaked in the blood of his sacrifice. He spent the next four decades standing in the breach, as a prosecutor, as FBI Director, as the man who held this nation together in the smoldering ash of September 12th, 2001, when we were all afraid and we needed someone steady, someone serious, someone who loved this country more than he loved himself.
He was all of those things.
He was a Republican.
He was, by every honest measure, an American hero.
And the President danced on his grave.
