EKZ to Create 20,000 Jobs, Says Governor Oyebanji
Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony of the Ekiti Knowledge Zone, Governor Oyebanji said the first phase of the project alone is projected to create over 20,000 jobs, in line with the administration's local content policy.
According to the governor, the project is designed to stimulate economic growth and provide employment opportunities across key sectors, including research, science, technology, industry, and education development.
He noted that the Knowledge Zone represents a strategic investment in the future of Ekiti State, aimed at attracting local and international investors, fostering innovation, and empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs and professionals.
The Ekiti Knowledge Zone is a flagship development initiative supported by the Ekiti State Government and development partners, including the African Development Bank (AfDB). The project is expected to transform the state's economic landscape and strengthen its position as a leading knowledge and technology destination in Nigeria.
"The first phase, when fully completed, will create over 20,000 jobs, while the entire project is expected to generate about 100,000 jobs," Governor Oyebanji stated.
