The latest NHTSA report has just come in.
Tesla reported one new incident this month. It occurred earlier in April, when the Robotaxi was stopped and rear-ended by a truck. Tesla is therefore not at fault.
The previous report already listed two other incidents in March in which the Robotaxi was also stationary and rear-ended.
As a result, there have been zero incidents since the beginning of February 2026 in which the Robotaxi was at fault.
Let that sink in! Zero incidents where FSD was at fault for the last four months (June’s data will be released next month).
I’ve attached a simplified view of the NHTSA data if you’d like more details.
@elonmusk@aelluswamy Amazing job! You guys are cooking!
Due to the media bias, they cannot have a single accident. I assume that’s why they roll out a lot slower and more careful than initially planned, and train the software way safer than the 10x human goal.
The most recent FSD release has plenty of evidence that the car now not only tries to avoid any mistake at all, but starts actively avoiding everyone else’s mistakes as well.
With a fair press we’d have cheaper transport and safer roads already.
@tim_tyler@niccruzpatane I believe we’ve all seen recently what happens to Waymo if they lose connection for extended time and decisions are to be made. We also know they need HDMaps.
This is a very short surface-level tunnel. The car has both 5G and GPS here easily. I believe it’s visible on the screen.
By definition Waymo’s Internet+GPS+HDMaps software cannot work in deep tunnels that don’t have any of these and where HDMaps would look all the same.
You need a brain and the ability to read and understand navigation signs, and maintain context for long periods of time. The last one hasn’t even been solved by Tesla yet.
@yunta_tsai 💯 ^^ this … so obvious to witness the weakness of human emotions in traffic while you lean back with a relaxed smile and let your chaffeur handle it impeccably.
