4 things every athlete needs to hear:
• I love you.
• You’re capable of more.
• I’m going to do all I can to help you.
• YOU’VE gotta want it more than I do!
PLAYERS: Your coach shouldn't have to beg you to be unselfish, provide energy, have a good attitude, or give your best effort. Those are all things you can control. That is what a winning teammate brings to a team. Great teams have great teammates.
Don’t do good things for attention.
Don’t do good things for credit.
Don’t do good things for praise.
Do good things to do good things, to make an impact, to serve others, because it’s the right thing to do.
Humility is the way.
Put this sign up in your locker room: Losers assemble in small groups and complain about coaches and players… winners assemble as a TEAM and find ways to win.
5 things you will never regret:
1. Being a good teammate
2. Keeping a positive attitude
3. Giving your best effort in all you do
4. Bringing positive energy to your team
5. Making a commitment to daily improvement
None of this is easy.
But it wins.
#LeadershipMatters

PLAYERS: Do you want more playing time? Make it impossible for the coach to sit you. Become a better teammate and more positive leader. Find ways to become more valuable to your team. Bring more value to your team. Make your teammates better. Make your team better!!!
Years from now, your players may not remember a single game from a particular season or tournament, but they will always remember the experiences they had being a part of your team & having a coaching staff who truly cared about them. Those are the memories that last a lifetime!
When you are undisciplined, you are a controlled by circumstances and however you feel in the moment.
When you are disciplined, you are free from being swayed by circumstances or how you feel; you just do what needs to be done.
Only the disciplined are truly free.
