I think private jet tracker accounts are pretty gross, but banning journalists for reporting on that, and then blocking links to your upstart competitor is way WAY worse. I've been lurking here a couple weeks, but I'm logging back out.

@jonkimball I'm trying to switch over, but almost everyone is still over here. It's hard. So far, not much has changed about this site, other than a vague sick feeling about the current owner. Adding an order of magnitude to the character limits is going to change the vibe.
@ablington I follow this stuff an unhealthy amount and I only know Fauci and Gorsuch. The list of grievances is sort of all over the place and does little to boost my hopes that the party is returning to the conservative values of yore.
I’m (mostly) not here anymore but mastodon is having some troubles with photos.
Going through my comics in an (apparently vain) attempt to downsize. My kid says he wants to read them, so I guess they’re sticking around! These two weren’t on the chopping block. They’re my faves.
@michaelmccrae No. I don’t have much older stuff. I picked up the Groo #1 because that was my intro to comics, and to Aragonés. Somehow I missed Mad growing up.
And now a short complaint about Mastodon: I don't like how your posts automatically go out to the server feed. This isn't how I want things to work. I guess you can limit that unwanted reach by picking the right server, but I didn't. Sigh.
Returning to this, I think I understand why I can't grok this. I was talking with my mathematically-minded kid last night, and it came up. He thinks the Incompleteness Theorem is super important *and* that it's a little disconcerting!
Philosophically, I've always been pretty OK with this. There are a lot of unknowns, but we have enough information to do pretty well in this universe of ours. I guess mathematicians wanted more precision than that for their model of EVERYTHING, so Goedel was a big deal.
@thrivingfornow @darth <urban dictionary search> I guess I was familiar with the idea, but not that term. It does add some texture to that headline! I learn so much on this platform; I'll be sad when it dies.
