Yesterday on #MorningJoe, we addressed Donald Trump’s remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast.
At a moment meant for humility and reflection, Trump chose insults, mockery, and open contempt, not only toward Democrats, but toward anyone who didn’t fall in line.
What was most troubling was the reaction. Laughter. Applause. Silence where conscience should have spoken.
We are judged not only by what we say, but by how we respond when others demean, divide, and disrespect the values they claim to represent. When cruelty is met with cheers, it reveals a deeper moral failure.
Great question! Thank you! I became a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist in order to help with the process of healing and ending racism on both the externalized and internalized levels. I am spiritually called to do the work of intercultural bridgebuilding. I have developed original processes and exercises to share with the world, however, I believe that in order to be even more successful, the credential of L.C.S.W. helps me further my goals, build additional knowledge, and gain momentum with this important work. I’ve been committed to doing the work of healing racism and all social oppressions since the age of four when I can trace back my earliest memory related to racism and being rightfully confused about it as a dance student in a class with other four-year-olds of diverse cultural identities and backgrounds in the multicultural Bronx in New York City, where I was born and raised. Before my work as a psychotherapist began at The Hunter College School of Social Work (City University of New York) M.S.W. Program in 2009, I had obtained another Masters Degree at The Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution Studies in Fairfax, VA at George Mason University, an M.S in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. I was also a diversity and business management consultant/trainer, peer counselor, cultural diversity artist and painter, singer-songwriter, theatre-maker, and peace activist. Building harmony and understanding as bridges to peace in all of our relationships is what I hope to achieve throughout our diverse and beautiful human family, and psychotherapy is an essential key. My name is Elana Felice Stanger, L.C.S.W.. I am now based in Philadelphia, PA and New York, NY.
Last night, Congress passed a spending bill that will keep the government open until just before Thanksgiving.
While this is good news, I strongly urge Republicans in Congress to pass a year-long budget agreement and avoid another crisis.
Tune in. https://t.co/7esmPV8I1T
My father didn’t pass away.
He was assassinated.
A 1967 poll reflected that he was one of the most hated men in America.
Most hated.
Many who quote one #MLK line, tweet egregious AI photos of him, and evoke him to deter justice actually despise #TheInconvenientKing.
@BerniceKing Dear Bernice King. I'm so sorry. I LOVE your father very deeply. Always have. Always will. He is a GREAT human being. He is missed deeply in this world. I am doing his work also... I am continuing his legacy of love... I hope to meet you someday soon. ❤️
Just got off the phone with some of tonight’s winners — including some folks I saw on the road this year.
