State endangered Least Bitterns were recently discovered at Mud Lake/Elbel Park and we suspect they might be nesting. Glad they found some suitable habitat in one of our high quality natural areas.

Exciting news! State endangered Common Gallinules nested successfully in our kettle lakes this summer. 4 juveniles 1st documented on Aug 14. Fortunate that our high quality natural areas provide rich habitat for these rare birds.
