@JunkScience The variance in temperature on one day cannot statistically be used to say anything about global warming. Even the most basic statistics course will teach you that.

Also, this year is not a full year yet, so you cannot compare it to previous years.

I have nothing against friend tech, or any web 2.5 app, as long as they are upfront and let you know they are centralized.

I maye seem like some grumpy old man, but i understand fun is an important part of moral.

Lets not lose sight of the bigger picture though. Every freedom you currently take for granted is being threatened, fully. There is no second chance at this.

And for every persons awareness of web2.5 that DOES NOT know about web3, is a big problem. There is a great
migration happening, either the masses focus goes to centralized control or we have an alternative decentralized world to keep the balance.

🇩🇪 Giga Berlin

Remember the Chairman Bähler of the Water Supplier WSE who was against all and everything with regards to Giga Berlin and Tesla and even tried all options including suing to not deliver the contractually agreed water to Giga Berlin including starting a media smear campaign but failed?

Last week, it became known that several member municipalities had filed a motion to vote out of office against WSE association chairman André Bähler and his deputy Gerd Windisch because, according to their own statements, they no longer have confidence in their leadership.

P.S. WSE also opposes Tesla's Giga Berlin expansion plans, citing three reasons, the second of which is that the water utility cannot supply water, whereas Tesla has described in its application documents that no additional water is needed. 🤔

It's a myth that BEVs do not work in Africa

There are only 26 million cars on the entire African continent, but 27 million motorcycles and these are now becoming electric.

Whenever I was in Africa, I saw a large number of motorcycles on which pretty much everything is transported and which also function as cabs. Since the roads are often bad, motorcycles have great advantages in the sometimes chaotic traffic.

Rwanda-based Ampersand produces now electric motorcycles and delivered its thousandth e-bike in June, taking care of the charging problem itself (like Tesla).

Instead of relying on African power grids, the machines are fitted with exchangeable batteries that can be swapped in 2 minutes at one of the many swap stations (see map at right). Because of their success, they started to export now to Kenya.

In the Western world, the prejudice that diesel is a cheap form of energy worldwide still dominates in many circles but its totally wrong. The average income in Rwanda is 850$/month, the liter of gasoline is 1.40$, and therefore diesel is simply not affordable for many. It's also hard to get as logistics often do not work.

Ampersand's motorcycle battery technology, on the other hand, is with 2 to 3 cents/km according to the manufacturer orders of magnitude cheaper.

This is not only because of the low cost of energy but because the more demanding climate is less harsh on electric motors than on internal combustion engines with many moving parts.

I have published several tweets in the past explaining why electric vehicles and motorcycles have many advantages in Africa where decentralized electricity generation is very common. The arrogance we have in many places about Africa is mind-blogging and most people talk without knowing the continent at all.

It is time to finally recognize that electric mobility works in all countries and they as Africa have skipped the landline telephone and immediately work with smartphones it will be in many regions also so that ICE vehicles are skipped and one directly move to electric vehicles and that's not for ideological or environmental but for economic reasons.
