Over 200 Michigan #healthcare#safetynet leaders have come together this morning for the 12th-consecutive Healthy Safety Net Symposium held in Lansing.

- The state's Maternal Mortality Surveillance Cmte. found that approx. 50% of maternal deaths in MI were preventable.
- MI will add doulas as a Medicaid benefit, and expand postpartum care for Medicaid members for 12 months following delivery.
Some key highlights from the morning sessions:
- Before COVID-19, MIβs nonprofits employed 470,000+, almost 11% of MIβs workforce. Sector employment numbers are not at pre-pandemic levels.
- Behavioral care is at critical mass: nearly 68% of adults have another medical condition.
