The Netherlands is following China, France, and Russia in moving to break the global stranglehold of US tech dominance, it was revealed this week.
The Dutch government was shocked into action after the US remotely disabled the computers of judges in the Hague who criticized Israel leader Benjamin Netanyahu.
The sudden loss of ICC staff’s Outlook email accounts caused significant problems.
The US reserves the right to unilaterally sanction anyone, anywhere in the world--all your Google accounts could disappear in an instant. Bye-bye, gmail.
“The Dutch government is creating its own digital work environment based on the Dutch Linux distribution NixOS,” said Jasper Bakker of news website Tweakers.
The spreading realization: smart countries protect their digital sovereignty.
.
HARDWARE, TOO
China is trying to ditch both software and hardware. Beijing in 2019 ordered government offices to switch away from foreign PCs, and fortunately has a great many locally produced computers to fill the gap.
China’s Ministry of State Security this summer told some state-linked organizations to quickly remove a customized version of Windows 10 from their machines, Bloomberg reported in August. Other organizations are set to “clean” their systems of the program by February of 2027.
Russia, France, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Italy and Austria are also replacing Microsoft programs with alternatives in various government areas, particularly in military sectors.
In Hong Kong, a number of government departments have already replaced Microsoft Office products with alternatives.
.
THE PROBLEM IS THE PUBLIC
But security specialists worldwide note that large-scale switching will be a challenge.
While multiple countries are clearing their governmental systems of dominant US programs, virtually all computers owned by members of the public are filled with it—and few consumers will take the trouble to switch away from Microsoft Office, let alone from the Windows operating system.
Even in China, Microsoft is dominant at consumer level. The Windows program accounted for 87.64% of desktop web traffic in China as recently as July 2026, StatCounter reported.
Fortunately, alternative operating systems like Huawei’s HarmonyOS work well, and are growing in popularity.
Russia has enforced a total ban on Western software for government and military, mandating the use of domestic Astra Linux.
.
ALTERNATIVES
As for Europe, the best hope is the rise of easy-install alternatives. These do exist.
- France, like the Netherlands, is opting for changing the operating systems, transitioning 2.5 million civil servants to Linux. They have also been told to ditch MS Teams and use Visio, a local alternative.
- Individual German states are also opting for Linux, and are using Open Document Format and LibreOffice in place of MS Office.
.
WEAPONIZATION IS THE ISSUE
The problem is not US software, which works perfectly well. The issue is the way the programs are weaponized.
When the US weaponized GPS against a Chinese ship they (wrongly) suspected of carrying weapons of mass destruction, the world realized they needed an alternative, and now has one: Baidu.
When the US weaponized SWIFT against Russia, the world realized they needed an alternative, and became aware of one: CIPS.
And when the US weaponized Microsoft Outlook against judges in the Netherlands, the Dutch government finally sprang into action. Sometimes you need a shock to get you moving.

Now you are clearly witnessing Tucker Carlson pushing the fraudulent "white genocide" narrative in South Africa on direct behalf of the ruling establishment in Washington.
This is not surprising. I have consistently warned that the massive influencer accounts you see on this platform who pretend to be boldly "exposing" the American empire are running a calculated misdirection campaign. Their entire deceptive strategy involves conveniently deflecting all blame onto Israel by feeding the public sensationalist, doomsday conspiracy theories: telling you that Israel unilaterally orchestrated 9/11, even though it was massive American defense corporations and Wall Street institutions that reaped trillions of dollars from the twenty-year occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan; claiming that Israel assassinated JFK because he supposedly tried to stop their Dimona nuclear reactor, completely ignoring the fact that it was the CIA under Angleton that actively shielded, facilitated, and protected Israel's nuclear program with direct American technological intelligence, covert financing, and absolute diplomatic cover. Their propaganda is based on how Israel somehow miraculously forces poor, helpless American presidents to fight endless wars in the Middle East against their will.
They push this nonsense even though every single one of these Middle Eastern wars was specifically designed by the Pentagon to protect the Petrodollar, secure naval trade routes, expand global American hegemony, and generate trillions of dollars in guaranteed corporate profits for American defense giants like Lockheed Martin, Boeing, RTX, and multinational oil majors like Chevron and ExxonMobil.
In fact, the underlying thesis being aggressively peddled by these alternative-media grifters is that Israel has politically captured, blackmailed, and completely hijacked the United States, forcing an otherwise innocent, well-meaning America to commit horrific evils, war crimes, and imperial atrocities across the globe. This narrative is utterly laughable given that the United States itself was literally founded on the brutal genocide of indigenous Native Americans, built on the violent chattel enslavement of millions of Africans, and systematically evolved into the single most lethal, resource-plundering, and expansionist empire in modern human history. What I have come to clearly understand is that the prominent media figures pushing this specific propaganda are almost exclusively operating as assets or narrative enforcers for Western intelligence agencies. Their primary psychological mission is to safely channel righteous public outrage, anti-war sentiment, and political aggression far away from the imperial core in Washington and Wall Street, and dump it entirely onto Tel Aviv.
They desperately want you to believe that every global atrocity, illegal invasion, and carpet-bombing campaign executed by the United States occurred simply because a tiny client state somehow "tricked" them into doing it. Yet, by some miraculous coincidence, the multi-billion-dollar oil concessions, the looted gold reserves, the privatized infrastructure, and the vast mineral wealth extracted from the ruined countries that Israel supposedly "tricked" America into invading are always shipped directly to the United States, auctioned off to Western multinationals, and securely deposited into American banks.
These deceptive media pundits and influencers are not fighting for global human freedom, the sovereign liberation of Palestine, the decolonization of the Global South, or the dismantling of Western imperialism. They are running active narrative damage control for the empire, serving as convenient lightning rods to protect the Pentagon and the CIA. This is precisely why we should never be surprised when you see these exact same right-wing media figures seamlessly pivoting back to pushing core imperialist propaganda, whether it is manufacturing hysteria about an alleged "Christian genocide" in Nigeria to justify US military intervention, or peddling the fraudulent "white genocide" myth in South Africa to protect the massive land and mining monopolies of the European settler class.

End of Poverty!
Ibn Khaldun explaining what we'd call “reverse-engineering a goal” today.
“The beginning of action is the end of thinking, and the beginning of thinking is the end of action.”
Ukraine’s biggest steel city is switching off. Kryvyi Rih, 600,000 people, lived off mills and ore. Those giants paid for the city. Now they are idle. ArcelorMittal alone employs about 17,000; after four Russian missile strikes in five weeks it may not restart. The main ore plants are down. The rest of big industry is at about 25%. Russian attacks hit the factories. The closed Black Sea killed exports. There is no second economy here. If the plants stay dead, tens of thousands lose the only real payroll in town. Then people leave — not from missiles, but from poverty. What happens to Ukraine if its industrial cities empty out the same way?
Fulani are not the cause of ethnicity crisis in Plateau state. They're not solely to blame. They're the victims. When you look back to the root of the crisis, you'll realise.
Historically, Fulani pastoralists did not just wander into Plateau State. They settled peacefully in places like Barkin Ladi, Riyom, and Mangu in the early 1900s during the British colonial era. They lived side by side with indigenous groups like the Berom and Mwaghavul, trading beef and milk for farming goods.
The crisis began when traditional rulers and local politicians started labelling Fulani as "settlers" and "strangers." This label was used to deny them political representation, free farming and grazing, and land ownership rights despite paying taxes, land ownership, and their numbers.
Even though the Fulani population grew significantly in areas like Barkin Ladi, they completely submitted to the traditional rule of Riyom rulers and Berom chiefs (like the Attah Aten or Gbong Gwom Jos). They paid traditional levies and respected local leadership, showing a willingness to integrate peacefully under indigenous authority.
Long before the era of gun violence, conflicts were resolved through a local system called Ardo (Fulani leader) and village chief mediation. If a herder’s cows accidentally damaged a Berom farmer’s crops, the Fulani community traditionally paid heavy financial compensation quietly and peacefully to maintain the peace, even when local chiefs inflated the prices unfairly.
That's not just it. The tribes escalate from labelling and fairless judging to systematic asset theft. Security agencies have frequently intercepted armed tribesmen tracking stolen and slaughtered livestock. Roadblock killings and ambushes became normalised by the tribes. In the 1980s and 1990s, local youth gangs began cattle rustling and carrying out isolated killings of young Fulani herd boys in the bushes.
Despite the above acts, Fulani were still maintaining peace. For years, the Fulani leaders chose not to fight back. Instead, they took their grievances to the police and local government chairmen, believing the state would protect them. But silence they heard.
The transition from tolerance to retaliation didn't happen until when major ethno-religious crises in Jos spilled into rural areas like Barkin Ladi and Mangu in 2001 and 2008 Jos riot. During these crises, unarmed Fulani families who had nothing to do with urban politics were systematically targeted, their homes burned, and their cattle slaughtered.
After losing thousands of cows and hundreds of lives in these crises, no local attackers were prosecuted. They were now cocksure that the gov't is not neutral. So they stood for themselves. Another main thing that affected fulani was modern knowledge. They were cheated by the law.
And again, the media is biased. When a farming village is attacked, it makes international headlines. However, when unarmed Fulani herders, women, and children are massacred in isolated settlements, the media remains silent or labels the actors as "Unknown gunmen," but if a farming village is attacked, then its undoubtedly Fulani. Haba. This crisis will end only if the gov't want so.
Justice for Fulani.

Update: President Mahama of Ghana has REJECTED the U.S. Health deal proposed to replace USAID, worth $109M 🇬🇭❌
“It is humiliating. Why will you want our health record and pathogen profile? And say we’re not allowed to inspect any medicine you give us. We threw the compact away so quickly. I’ve never seen anything thrown out that fast. Ghana will continue to manage its health needs. We’d find other ways for bilateral relations.”
— President John Mahama speaking at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York on Friday, 25th September.
Ghana joins Zambia, Namibia and a few African countries that have rejected the new USAID compact.
However, Giant of Africa reportedly signed it in December 2025, five months before the deadline, and weeks after it was proposed.

brad pitt didn’t pay me a damn thing for this
and if you don’t feel like getting kicked in the teeth by a movie about a man a dog and the shit war leaves behind then stop reading here
because heart of the beast isn’t really a survival movie
not to me anyway
it’s about two old soldiers
one of them just happens to have four legs
they both made it home
and the movie understands something people don’t talk about enough
coming home and being finished with a war are two completely different things
the dog still carries it
you see it when he sleeps
the man carries his own version too
and neither one needs some big speech about healing because that’s not how that kind of bond works
they already know what the other one is carrying
that’s the brotherhood part of it
not uniforms
not medals
not somebody calling you a hero
it’s knowing the thing beside you has seen the same hell and stayed anyway
then the movie takes them into the wilderness
and that’s where it got me
people like to romanticize men disappearing into the woods like it’s all peace and freedom
sometimes it isn’t
sometimes a man goes looking for quiet because he’s had enough noise
enough people
enough bullshit
enough things he can’t unsee
nature doesn’t ask what happened
it doesn’t need the story
it just lets you be there
but even out there the past comes with you
and that’s really what this movie is about
not escaping it
carrying it
and eventually deciding what you’re still willing to carry it for
there’s another thing in this movie that hit harder than i expected
the idea of the last mission
when somebody has survived enough times there can come a point where survival itself isn’t a reason anymore
you’ve already beaten the odds
you’ve already had the extra years
you’ve already walked away from things you probably shouldn’t have
so you start needing something else
one more reason to get up
one more thing that needs you
one last job that makes all those other times you survived mean something
sometimes that thing is a person
sometimes it’s a promise
sometimes it’s a dog
i went to see brad pitt survive alaska with a military dog
i left thinking about the things that keep a man moving long after survival stopped being enough
that’s about as much of a review as you’re getting from me
go watch the damn movie
Because your IP address is not the only signal that reveals your location. Not even close.
A VPN changes one variable. Websites that care about detecting real location use dozens.
Your browser timezone does not change when you connect to a VPN. If your VPN puts you in the US but your system clock reports West Africa Standard Time the mismatch is an immediate flag. Language settings, keyboard locale, and browser accept-language headers all travel with every request you make regardless of what IP it comes from.
WebRTC is a browser protocol that has a documented behaviour of exposing your real local IP and sometimes your public IP directly to websites through JavaScript even when a VPN is active. It bypasses the tunnel entirely. This is called a WebRTC leak and most people using VPNs have never checked for it.
DNS leaks are another common failure. If your VPN is not routing DNS requests through its own servers your device falls back to your ISP's resolver. Every domain lookup reveals your real location to your ISP and potentially to the websites tracking that data.
VPN IP ranges are extensively catalogued. Streaming platforms and fraud detection systems maintain databases of known VPN and datacenter IP addresses. Your exit node is likely already flagged as non-residential traffic before the page even loads. Netflix, banks, and government sites cross-reference your IP against these lists immediately.
Payment methods and billing addresses attached to your account reveal real location the moment any transaction is involved regardless of what IP you connected from.
A VPN changes your IP. Detection uses your timezone, language, WebRTC, DNS, browser fingerprint, and account data simultaneously.
Changing one signal while broadcasting the other eleven doesn’t keep you anonymous.
One evening in 2024, I was scrolling through twitter and getting ready to close from work when I came across a post by Sahil Bloom that really hit me like nothing before.
In a talk with a friend, Sahil mentioned that he lived far from his parents. His friend asked, "How old are they? How often do you see them?"
"Mid-60s. I see them once a year" Sahil said.
“So you’d see them 15x in your lifetime”.
He was so moved that he quit his job, sold his house and moved closer to his parents.
That post hit me so deeply like nothing I had read on Twitter.
Because that was my exact situation.
I was working partly in Lagos. My dad was old, sickly and was living in Kano - far away from me.
He had been sick and frail for about two years.
I immediately called one of my brothers to speak with our father.
His voice was kind of weak and trembling.
Once I heard that, I booked a flight to Kano for the next day.
When he saw me at the door, his whole face changed. He was shocked to see me- everybody in the house was.
He smiled. And in the faintest whisper said:
“Aminu, kai ne?” “Aminu, is that you?”
I turned my face away so he wouldn’t see my teary eyes.
I stayed in Kano for next two days.
That was my last physical encounter with him.
It is that memory that I now hold dear because….
A few weeks later, on the afternoon of October 1, 2024, my phone made a small buzz.
It was a text from one of my brothers.
“Allah yayi wa kawu rasuwa.”
“Our father has passed away.”
And just like that, it was over.
No more calls.
No more visits.
On 1/10/2026, it would be 2 years since he passed away. May Allah forgive him and us too.
Most times, we think that we have “The time”.
Time to call. The Time to visit.
The reality is we don’t.
The time with our loved ones and our time on earth is so limited.
In fact, fragile.
And it expires without warning.
So if someone comes to your mind today - your dad, your mum, your friend - call them.
Go see them.
Don’t wait.
You may never get another chance.
