Last night, Stanford graduate Everton Blair was elected to serve the remainder of the congressional term in the suburban Atlanta-based GA-13.
He defeated Marcye Scott, the daughter of the late Rep. David Scott, who represented the district until his death in April.
@ohitswaters I don’t have registered voters by district, but according to 2021 redistricting documents the voting age population for District 3 was 82.8% white and 6.4% black.
2 and 3 are by far the whitest districts.
Last night Huntsville, Alabama had city council elections!
Incumbents had a pretty good night, as council members David Little and Bill Kling won comfortably and Jennie Robinson fell just short of avoiding a runoff.
@MakeUSAVAT@JerusalemDemsas Neoliberalism is just what they call evidence based economic policy nowadays. It doesn't actually matter if it is related to the specific reforms and ideological valence of the 80s movement by the same name.
@craftermeow Total turnout was 12.6% across all three races, I’d expect that to be a touch higher in 2 and 3 and way lower in 4.
Precincts are split between districts so a bit hard to tell, and I can’t find recent per district voter registration numbers at the moment
So where do we stand in Alaska's US Senate Race after last night's results? A 🧵
tl;dr version: Anchorage is most of what's still out, it went heavily Peltola, and Peltola is still on track to get about 49.9%.
Chart below, which I'll explain in subsequent tweets
My interactive map of the AK Gov/US Senate/US House elections has been updated with the latest data. Click on the big purple Main Maps Options button and change the Results level to see the Overall/ABS/Early/Questioned Votes by HD.

Guesswork on what we have so far from what's in today. Anchorage is missing so far, as is the Rural Interior HD-36.
To get this, I subtracted each HD's total votes from last week's total votes. (Not times cast, which is more accurate but would take excel work.)
Graham needs 48.4% of the remaining 266,567 to clinch. She is running 53.6%. Norman must win the rest of the state by about 3 points which would be about a 5 point swing off the current pace. And nothing in the latest batch shows that swing happening.
Norman looks like he's going to need to do about 15 points better on Election Day than in the Early Vote, which isn't impossible but of course not easy. We'll be monitoring the shift as ED ballots start to come in.
Here are some maps of a hypothetical California gubernatorial race if the state held party-specific primaries.
Among Dems, Steyer dominates in NorCal, the Sierras, and with libbed-up white voters.
Among Reps, Hilton wins most areas besides Bianco's home turf of Riverside/SB counties as well as some uber-conservative areas in the North (and interestingly enough, some minority-heavy parts of LA!)
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has given away over 200 million books to kids. Her music will live forever but to those kids the books will be with them for life. https://t.co/wPkT8GShZb
Dolly Parton was universally beloved figure. No one in America disliked her; even if you didn’t like her music, no one could help but smile when her name was invoked. A truly beautiful human being, who spent her life helping as many as she could. She truly was the best of America
@BlueDogDemUSA Kling is considered more progressive, he’s currently the swing vote between the Meredith-Watkins bloc and the Robinson-Little bloc. I’d expect Pylant to fall squarely with the latter.
Tonight, home of the Rocket City Trash Pandas and my hometown Huntsville, Alabama has city council elections in Districts 2, 3, and 4.
One of my best friends Thomas Casez is contesting District 2 against incumbent David Little.
Here's the 2022 contest in District 2:
