ICYMI: @SenLummis says the CLARITY Act can still clear the Senate’s 60-vote threshold, despite growing pressure from the banking lobby over stablecoin rewards.
She argues stablecoins and community banks can coexist, pushing back on claims that digital assets will drain bank deposits.
When I first got into the lending industry it had been blown apart stripped apart and rebuilt. The same thing will happen for crypto once it’s blown apart enough large scale institutions get burned and the narrative will be to protect the customers by regulation
The next unlock for crypto isn’t more protocols. It’s making DeFi usable for traditional investors. That’s how trillions enter the ecosystem.

Another Lakers roster build, still keeping LeBron, Luka, Austin, Kennard, Rui, Smart, Hayes, Ayton & Thiero (plus Bronny of course.) -this time Ayton opts into his player option & Luka and the team feel he is too valuable to re-trade him.
*June 15-20 -meeting with LeBron - offering LeBron a 2 year $41.6m deal ($20m this year) with the explantions for using $40m of his max to help build up the team ($24m cap space to sign players & $16m to extend Rui - without that discount we coudn't do either). Explain that we will give him time, but if past July 1 will renounce his cap hold but will keep the $20m available for him until they have used all their other cap space on players, then need an answer. *June 23 before draft - agree in principal with the Pelicans to trade Vando, Dalton, the 2026 FRP (#25) & 2033 FRP for Herb Jones.
*June 29: Austin, Smart both opt out of their player options while Ayton opts in.
*July 30: Lakers sign Rui to an extension of 4 yr $72.1m deal with first year $16m.
*July 1 & beyond: Lakers renounce all old cap holds plus cap holds of LeBron, Kennard, Kleber & Smart, but not Austin or Hayes. Then Lakers Trade Jake LaRavia & the 2031 FRP to Brooklyn for Josh Minott - 6'8" 205lb forward. Lakers now have net cap space of $44.1m. They set meetings and sign the following players to deals: Marcus Smart $10.2m, Jordan Goodwin $3.8m, Robert Williams III $10.1m leaving $20.00m in cap space. Also on July 1, Lakers trade with Pelicans for Herb Jones is finalized, and soon after LeBron accepts the Lakers offer and signs the $41.6m 2 year deal, exhausting Lakers Cap Space.
*Then Lakers use their room exception of $9.4m to resign Luke Kennard. Jaxson Hayes agrees to a 2 year $12.5m deal with bird rights ($6m due this year.) Austin Reaves agrees to a 5 year $205.3m deal ($35m this year) and signs the deal.
Kleber & Nick Smith Jr are both FA and find deals with other teams (or not).
See the followup for Salaries, lineups and total cap info.

@RyanRozbiani Yea this makes me very very skeptical of who really killed Khamenei and who is actually behind the scenes the decision maker while Khamenei is a front. Either way he had to go bc he and those around him were deemed to be too hardline in their beliefs.
@koreavaluehunt AAAH of course @koreavaluehunt is in my neck of the woods K-TOWN! Very cool! Am I right, Park's BBQ is the best KBBQ? If you reside locally you should do a meet up. Lot's of $$$ (Korean Capital) is right here!

It's the beginning of the summer driving season and this conflict (war) which I thought was very far on the back burner is still affecting consumers and the economy. This all goes back to when @POTUS said that instead of three dolls kids can get by with one. Why?
Last night, Karen promised to clean up the tents on the sidewalks.
I’m wondering if someone would be so kind as to inform her she’s currently the mayor? What exactly is she waiting for?
When I was a broker, there was a tenant who occupied most of the building they were renting.
That tenant really wanted to buy the building, and heard the owner was in some financial trouble.
So, he stopped paying rent.
I was the leasing agent, and one day I stopped by and asked him about the rent situation.
He started screaming at me, and I will never forget his words:
"DO YOU THINK I'M SOME REGULAR NORMAL (profanity) PERSON????"
The property later went into foreclosure, and that tenant ended up buying it for pennies on the dollar.
it’s worth pointing out that in his latest IG workout post 4 days ago, Aaron Donald in his caption has “#ready” and the song is “ain’t done” by Bixst.
this can’t be a coincidence, right?

Since the outset of the Iran war, @gop lawmakers and their staff have been telling me they're watching/waiting for two variables: $5 gas and June. In their view, $5 gas was "the new $4" and June was when President Trump would need to pivot to domestic policies to help Republicans hold the House and Senate going into the midterms. Now here we are, with the ceasefire on month two, in June, but gas at a previously inconceivable $4.33/gallon.
With a fractured Republican conference, an AUMF on the verge of passing in the House after passing in the Senate when @BillCassidy lost his primary and went YOLO and as my favorite Republican House staffer puts it to me "only 18 legislative days left until the August recess", its extremely unlikely that we get a gas tax holiday and I'm optimistic the President won't impose an export control ban - at least not yet.
We've gotten to June, but not to $5. Amazing and, as @FerroTV puts it, a humbling market. Great to be with @lisaabramowicz1 and @annmarie and (from the Green Room) Apollo's Torsten Slok this Monday morning! @BloombergTV@VedaPartners1

@Elex_Michaelson@KarenBassLA “Amateur” implies there is an expert option.
But Karen is an expert at what? At keeping LAPD unable to do enforce law and protecting socialist activists?
