🚨 Event Alert
Agora Policy, with support from the Nigeria Economic Stability and Transformation (NEST) programme of @FCDOGovUK, is convening a stakeholders’ dialogue on 12 March 2026 in Abuja with the theme: Sustaining and Deepening Economic Reforms in Nigeria.
Stay tuned.
Five years ago, I concluded my term as the head of NEITI, an experience I captured in my memoir 'The Arc of the Possible,' a book about how to get things done in the public service while holding on to one's values. I am in talks with @CablebooksNg to make the book open access.
Yesterday's event by Carnegie Endowment and Agora Policy reconfirmed that there is indeed appetite for policy research and deliberation in Nigeria. Thanks to our eminent panellists/speakers and esteemed participants. Gracias mucho 🙏🙏🙏 @elrufai, @CCSoludo@kfayemi@MssZeeUsman
We are happy and honoured to co-host this important event with Carnegie in Abuja, Nigeria. Registration details and list of confirmed speakers to follow shortly.

All set for our maiden event on 'Strengthening Evidence-Based Policy Making for Accountability,' with the kind support of MacArthur Foundation. @macfound, @Waziriadio
in fact the overall capacity for governance across the three tiers, is quite thin. Agora Policy is designed to contribute to the process of addressing these gaps. By the way, Agora means “public” in Greek.
Agora Policy will focus, for now, on economic, governance, social and environmental policies. The core of Agora Policy’s work will be policy research, aimed at generating practical solutions to challenges in those areas.
.@Waziriadio Adio, former executive secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, speaks with @Shehu_Idris95 on Agora Policy, the think tank and non-profit he just launched “to find practical solutions to urgent national challenges”.
One of the things I have been up to is starting Agora Policy, a policy think tank. Please find some details in this interview. Kindly follow and engage the handle: @AgoraPolicy.
🙏🙏🙏
Agora Policy is founded to address three critical gaps in Nigeria's development:
1. Dearth of actionable research on pressing policy challenges;
2. Limited attempt at building national consensus on policy options;
3. Low capacity for policy design, implementation and advocacy.
Agora Policy is a Nigerian think tank and non-profit committed to finding practical solutions to urgent national challenges. We conduct policy research, facilitate frank and purposeful dialogues, and build capacity for governance, policy and advocacy.
If you are in Abuja and free this Saturday, please join us as I read from, take questions on, and sign copies of my book, 'The Arc of the Possible.' 🙏🙏🙏
