Acabo de terminar de leerme toda la encíclica Magnifica Humanitas que presentó hoy el papa León XIV con foco en la inteligencia artificial: https://t.co/94P3C1eFFA
Dejo algunas frases + reflexiones que se me van ocurriendo:
Rosa Parks was born today in 1913 and she said: "To bring about change, you must not be afraid to take the first step. We will fail when we fail to try."
Responsible AI by Design: Ethics, Governance, and Public Trust:
“Many of the AI systems are lacking accountability.
For accountability to be effective we need to also institutionalize it.” -Dr. Eleonora Lamm

Last Friday, I had the pleasure of chairing the autumn meeting of the High-Level Advisory Board of the Management of Social Transformations (#MOST) Programme.
This initiative within @UNESCO's Social and Human Sciences Sector is committed to questioning outdated frameworks and fostering inclusive governance models that can tackle systemic challenges effectively. A cornerstone of this effort is the #MOST Programme, entrusted by its Intergovernmental Council to rethink socio-economic paradigms and advance public policies for the betterment of #societies worldwide.
As @MazzucatoM described, our board serves as “a thorn in the side of the system,” pushing for bold new frameworks and #socialcontracts that tackle the pressing #globalchallenges of our time.
Our discussions were structured around the transformative work of our board: rethinking #socioeconomic paradigms through #UNESCO, supporting member states in applying new mandates, and representation and participation in advancing the #commongood.
Throughout the meeting, one key takeaway resonated: systems as they exist today are not prepared to meet the complexity of our current challenges. Practical, actionable strategies are needed to drive transformative change, ensuring policies align with the needs of people and the planet, fostering a renewed sense of community.
We left with a shared commitment to translate these discussions into #actionable recommendations for Member States in 2025. I am inspired by the dedication of this exceptional group and look forward to continuing this work together.

What a wonderful celebration of #WorldPhilosophyDay at @UNESCO ! This day reminds us of the essential role philosophy plays in helping societies reflect on the path we’re on.
As someone from an economic/social background, I’m used to seeking answers, but events like this are a powerful reminder that perhaps we should focus on asking the right questions.
I was thrilled to moderate a thought-provoking discussion on Youth and Philosophy with the inspiring #HartmutRosa, #CharlotteCasiraghi and #EdwigeChirouter. A sentiment echoed throughout the event was that “les enfants sont des philosophes”—children are natural philosophers. While still absent from the vast majority of school curriculums, it is clear that philosophy is essential for the upbringing of individuals whether as a tool for navigating loneliness and bridging social gaps, or even to offer a unique approach towards modern challenges such as the ethics of AI with curiosity and wisdom.
Shoutout to Hartmut Rosa for having chosen #UNESCO to deliver his new conceptual framework of social energy, a concept that connects social life, metaphysics, and the energy needed to drive meaningful change. His reflections on modernity’s dual energy crisis—both physical and mental—particularly among youth, were profoundly resonant in our complex world.
As Professor Rosa said, “Energy is a potential for social change.” Let’s harness this energy to create a better future!
Big thanks to DG @AAzoulay for her unwavering support to this program, and her quest to open the space for #humanities to make a meaningful contribution. Thanks also to my wonderful team!

as @gabramosp said: Improving gender equality in AI is far more complex than simply applying technical solutions. It requires a solid political commitment, along with concrete actions, and dedicated budgets to drive the changes necessary for true gender equality in the AI field
On Oct 30 the #Women4EthicalAI Conference at @UNESCO marked a big step for gender equality in #InclusiveAI! Co-chaired by @gabramosp & @AlessandraSala the event united experts advocating for AI that empowers everyone.
We launched the W4EAI Gender Outlook Study with key findings:
The Women4Ethical AI Conference was more than just a one-day event but a CALL FOR ACTION. It laid the foundation for an ongoing, transformative effort under the W4EAI platform to ensure that gender equality becomes an integral part of AI development and governance.
