@PopHemingway One of my buddies would borrow his older brothers Mustang. We'd pool our money, throw some gas in the car, grab some Maddog and Iron City beer, put the Kinks in the Craig Power Play 8 trac and head out. That would be great place to start. 🇺🇲
A five-year-old named Delilah Coleman was in the car with her family when an unqualified truck driver hit them.
Coma. Catastrophic brain injury. She’s alive. Her childhood is not what it was.
That’s not a statistic. That’s what happens when a state sells an 80,000-pound license to someone who can’t read the sign.
Sean Duffy just put the fraud on the table: testers handing out CDLs to people who don’t speak English. Schools lying. A black market for a safety credential. ICE putting detainers on drivers who already wrecked lives.
Nobody is owed a commercial license. You earn it — or you stay off the highway.
This isn’t a talking point. It’s a little girl who paid for someone else’s shortcut.
@GuntherEagleman The penalties need to go further up the line than just the drivers and those that hire them. But I won't hold my breath. I've been around too long to hope to see a politician in handcuffs anytime soon.🇺🇲
Freeloader Nation: Why America Needs to Cut Off Canada’s Welfare Check for Good (THREAD 🧵)
(Thread highlights below)
The sheer entitlement radiating from Ottawa is nothing short of comedy, and it is time to dismantle the grand delusion that Canada exists as an equal partner to the United States.
Canada is an economic dependent surviving entirely on American generosity, geographic convenience, and endless patience. The Canadian economy is essentially a northern retail outlet clinging to the perimeter of a twenty-eight trillion dollar American powerhouse. Over seventy percent of all Canadian exports go directly into the United States, representing more than thirty percent of Canada's total gross domestic product. If the American border closed for thirty days, Canada would experience immediate financial cardiac arrest. When American trade negotiators adjust tariffs by a single percentage point, provincial premiers across Canada scramble into emergency sessions, the Toronto Stock Exchange convulses, and editorial boards publish panic-stricken essays about national survival. Meanwhile, Canadian imports represent barely one percent of total United States economic output. The entire country of Canada has an economy smaller than Texas, smaller than California, and rapidly getting eclipsed by Florida...
@FinalTelegraph The single state of New York has a GDP along the lines of Canada's and do it with about 1/2 the population. As the Bard once penned, "Much ado about nothing." 🇺🇲
The filthy Islamic State of @GovtofPakistan at it again. When are they going to learn that we have freedom of speech and we will never stop exposing their evil, sick, violent, demonic ideology.
@AlexDuncanTX@GovtofPakistan Beautiful. I'd consider it a badge of honor. Islam has been destructive since that "prophet" crawled out of his cave in 610 AD. And unfortunately much of the West still hasn't figured it out.🇺🇲
@ThrillaRilla369 Try a little Carlos Nakai and a bonfire. Spent more than a few hours alone atop a mountain and/or out in the forest with a nice cigar, some mushroom "soup" and Mr. Nakai's music. 🇺🇲
Mark Carney just declared Canada is “at war” with the United States.
His reason? President Trump refused to give Canada everything it wanted in trade talks, and the 50% tariffs are now in effect.
This is the same Canada that relies on the American market to survive.
Acting like a victim after years of one-sided deals isn’t leadership.
It’s entitlement.
America first means America first.
@GuntherEagleman I know I've mentioned this before but our one state of New York has an equivalent GDP to Canada and does it with half the people. I'm sleeping pretty well tonight. 🇺🇲
@TheMightyMagnet@1776_TomPaine He's was, is and will be always at the top of my list. The world lost a great one. He passed on August 27, 1990. Requiescat in pace.
